Copper

Building Copper Ore • Copper Bar • Copper Brick (Wall) • Copper Chandelier
Tools Copper Pickaxe • Copper Axe • Copper Hammer
Armor & Weapons Copper Armor • Copper Broadsword • Copper Shortsword • Copper Bow
Accessories Copper Watch • Depth Meter

Does this look like an improvement? Open to suggestions on category names. Vissith 09:42, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

How about Materials instead of building and put the chandelier with the accessories? I know it's not quite right, but I think it would be more balanced. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 09:47, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
How about Copper Ore and Copper Bar in the title, leave chandelier where it is? Sathka 12:04, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
I added width:80% per that's the size of our (current) navboxes. I merged Copper Brick and Copper Brick Wall. Conciseness is Clarity (IMO) Happypal 12:16, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Here is another one. The only real difference is the single image on the top right. It adds a bit more life to the box, following the front page style, but doesn't load the box:

Copper Copper Bar.png
Building Copper Ore • Copper Bar • Copper Brick (Wall) • Copper Chandelier
Tools Copper Pickaxe • Copper Axe • Copper Hammer
Armor & Weapons Copper Armor • Copper Broadsword • Copper Shortsword • Copper Bow
Accessories Copper Watch • Depth Meter

The title bar is a bit large, and the table structure isn't perfect, but nothing that can't be tweaked. Happypal 13:04, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

I definitely like it. The image is great visual appeal and good for quick mental categorization. Sathka 13:06, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
I like the copper bar, but I don't like that the title bar seems fat now... I'm a bit torn on the Copper Brick (Wall) merge, when I first read it, I didn't really know what it meant. A parenthetical after type like that makes me think it's referring to a base type, i.e. "copper brick is a kind of wall". It doesn't really save any space in the huge navbox to shorten it to that anyway. // Vissithtalk 20:31, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

In terms of figuring out the category names, I think Iron is arguably the worst case currently, with Chest, Bucket, Chain, and Grappling Hook to consider. Are Iron Anvil and Iron Chain appropriate in "Building" or does that category need to be reconsidered? I don't want to have a Raw Materials category with just ore and bar in it. Also, Blade of Grass is in the silver navbox (as its base item is a Silver sword) but I don't currently have Ivy Whip in the Iron box. Should it go there? Items I'm uncertain about are in bold.

  • Building: Iron Ore, Iron Bar, Iron Anvil, Iron Chain
  • Tools: Iron Pickaxe, Iron Axe, Iron Hammer, Grappling Hook, Ivy Whip
  • Armor & Weapons: Iron Armor, Iron Broadsword, Iron Shortsword, Iron Bow
  • Misc: Chest, Empty Bucket

// Vissithtalk 20:40, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

No need for the icon in the title bar, no need to "merge" brick and wall, as they are two separate items and thus is misleading to have them as a single item. I don't like Chandelier being with the raw materials, so it needs to be moved, and if not to accessories, then change accessories to "Other" or "Miscellaneous" but chandeliers do not belong with the actual raw materials. Anvil should be with Tools. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 22:35, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Ok, here's another proposal. Including Copper and Iron.

Copper

Materials Copper Ore • Copper Bar • Copper Brick • Copper Brick Wall
Tools Copper Pickaxe • Copper Axe • Copper Hammer
Combat Copper Armor • Copper Broadsword • Copper Shortsword • Copper Bow
Other Copper Chandelier • Copper Watch • Depth Meter
Iron

Materials Iron Ore • Iron Bar • Iron Chain
Tools Iron Pickaxe • Iron Axe • Iron Hammer • Iron Anvil
Combat Iron Armor • Iron Broadsword • Iron Shortsword • Iron Bow
Other Grappling Hook • Ivy Whip • Chest • Empty Bucket
  • I'm not super crazy about the fixed 80% width, the massive whitespace in the box just sort of bothers me. My preference would be to let it auto size.
  • Code question, as I don't do a lot of CSS. I copied the "margin: 0 auto 1em" style from another box, but it seems like "auto" is sufficient?

// Vissithtalk 03:21, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

I believe the 80% was a random number I picked as default. I agree that white space is bad, however, I would like to see pages that have multiple nav boxes have the same width for all for consistency. Maybe try 70% and see how that goes? -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 04:24, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

A Copper Items page

The template directs to the disambiguation page, along with Silver and Gold, but that's not really what we want. It might be difficult to make the pages, but I think it's worth it. --Null(T-C) 01:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
