Notes
- (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) The Copper Shortsword can be thrown at a slime to unlock the Squire Slime(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
Tips
- In a world that generated with Tin Ore, it is advisable not to discard the Copper Shortsword if planning to craft the Zenith(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
- Copper can still be obtained via Shimmer(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), the Chlorophyte Extractinator(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), crates, and bonus drops from slimes.
Trivia
- The uselessness of the Copper Shortsword, even at the beginning of the game which it is supposedly suited for, has earned it "memetic" status within the Terraria community. For instance, on videos of people completing challenges in Terraria such as unusual boss fights or speedruns, comments saying "Now do it with a copper shortsword!" are not a rare sight, to make the seemingly impossible challenge even more ridiculous, although completely possible in some cases.
- The Copper Shortsword in the Zenith(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)'s recipe represents the beginning of the player's journey.
- A Tiny Copper Shortsword is the smallest sword in the game.
- A Broken Copper Shortsword deals 3 damage, making it the weapon with the second-lowest damage in the game, following the Broken Wooden Hammer, which deals 1 damage.
