Categorize chests, use the sorting colors to separate item categories, this helps with grouping unstackable items.

When creating your chest storage, consider creating a "first of a kind" chest for unstackable items. This will ensure that unstackable items always have some place to go.

Unfortunately for item hoarders, selling is a part of the game and money is needed. You cannot hoard all the items, with over 6000 items it's impractical to do so. Once you start selling weapons, armor and accessories become easier to manage. Maybe You want to keep the best of a modifier.
