Pure biomes

Pure biomes are biomes that are technically considered the default biome setting of an area in a world. An area is always considered one of the pure biomes (depending on height) if there are no other biomes occupying the location.

The following biomes are considered pure biomes: Space, Forest, Underground, and Cavern.

Notes

• When fishing, contents exclusive to these biomes are only obtainable when there are no other overlapping biomes, otherwise the contents will be overridden by the overlapping biome's.
  • For example, the Jewelfish can only be obtained by fishing in Underground and below. If there are enough tiles nearby to form a, e.g. Corruption/Underground Corruption biome, then it is impossible to obtain the fish.
• It is possible for the biome to be 'corrupted'. If you're having trouble getting the fish you need for a quest, check for the presence of corruption (e.g. purple water) - use the clentaminator or terraformer to spray around the area you intend to fish to remove the corruption before fishing.
