Underground Jungle
The Underground Jungle is a dense network of small caverns, composed primarily of Mud, pools of Water, Thorny bushes, and Bee Hive traps. It is located below the surface of the Jungle biome, and extends through the entire Cavern layer until stopping at The Underworld.
The Underground Jungle always contains the Jungle Temple and three to seven Bee Hive mini-biomes (depending on world size).
Common treasure rooms are Jungle Shrines, Underground Cabins, and Living Mahogany Trees(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
In Hardmode, all enemies have a chance of dropping a Jungle Key ((Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)) / Jungle Key Mold ((Old-gen console and 3DS versions)).
Furthermore, the Underground Jungle undergoes several minor changes throughout the course of Hardmode:
- Upon entering Hardmode, it becomes prone to being converted by the Evil biome and starts spawning Chlorophyte Ore and (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) Life Fruit.
- After defeating one mechanical boss, Life Fruit (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) begin spawning / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) spawn at a faster rate.
- Once all three mechanical bosses have been defeated, Plantera's Bulbs begin spawning.
