Use time

Whoa whoa whoa, hold on! Why edit every item article on the wiki? Simply editing the item infobox template would be so much easier, and require much less work. --Lunboks 20:37, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Welcome!

Welcome to the wiki, and thank you for your recent contributions! Just a small note regarding the infoboxes, can you put a space between the use time value and the bracket? It looks much better like that. — iLiaWneK (talk) 19:08, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I'll be done in a moment... --Icke 19:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

How do you...

How do you read the source code/files? Do you use a specific software or something? I would love to read in it, too! Thanks if you answer! --Nailer

I use ILSpy to retrieve the source code. After that you can use any text editor to open the obtained .cs files.(But I would recommend using something like Notepad++ to open those files.) Also note that if you want to redistribute a modified version that you have to follow these rules. --Icke 21:37, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, good thing I was patrolling the recent changes. Even though I didn't ask, thanks a lot for that link. dotPeek choking on Player.UpdatePlayer() was really starting to become a problem. --Lunboks 21:47, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Wow, that is awesome! maxWire = 1000 in worldgen probably means that there can be only 1000 wire-tiles generated in underground, right? That means when it reaches 1000 it can leave unfinished trap, right? :) OK, I don't really understand much of it, but thanks for help! --Nailer
The maxWire variable is the maximum number of tile in a circuit, not the maximum number of wires in the world. If you made a 2000 tile long wire and activated it, the "current" would only go halfway. Or at least that what I'm interpreting from the code...--GauHelldragon 04:19, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but why is it in the worldgen tab then? --Nailer 11:53 27.12.2011
Because WorldGen has all information about the world, not just the generation of it as it may suggest. --Icke 11:22, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

How do u put a table of contents on a page?-Mr. Fluffykins, August 2012

Automatically happens when you have at least 4 headings. But if you want to add one manually place __TOC__ somewhere on the page. Also if you want to sign your posts use ~~~~. --Icke 09:35, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry icke that content was removed from the wiki. My little brother actually did this when i was outside

Spawn Rate Page

I noticed you wanted to make a page concerning spawn rates. I already did some work on one, perhaps it could be added to, or combined? NPC_spawning is the name. --GauHelldragon 00:02, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

I'll add my foundings of what increases/decreases spawn rate tomorrow. Still need to check whether Demon Torches increase spawn rate and find a way how represent the data. --Icke 00:31, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't see any mention of demon torches in SpawnNPC() as far as spawn rates go. Only battle potions, water candle, time of day, depth, biome, npcs, etc... --GauHelldragon 16:19, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Cactus

Sorry for the hasty revert and thank you for the information. :) -- TechpriestMagos 15:59, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Worm Teeth

So, the source code says that Thorns Potions need "Worm Teeth"? I noticed that you said they don't exist. Just clarifying to make sure that Worm Tooth has a different name in source than what's referenced. Fruckert 05:07, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Yes, that's why I said the item doesn't exist and that it's a bug. But Worm Tooth is properly the item that the developers intended to add to the recipe. --Icke 09:51, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Slime edit

Actually when you edited the Slime page, you weren't right with "Lame fake bugs", it was real, but really long ago. In official 1.0.5 changelog was stated: Devourers should no longer gain random other enemies as its head. Just to put things in right way. --Nailer 18:22, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

How does this affect

Why shouldnt I put posts on?--Preceding unsigned comment added by Benhhterrariarules (talkcontribs)

I'll take a shot at answering, if I may. The reason is this: you have a history of providing incorrect information with poor grammar, often hindering understanding rather than helping. Sorry, that's just how it is. -- TechpriestMagos 18:03, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Icke are you a adminastrator? --Preceding unsigned comment added by Benhhterrariarules (talkcontribs)

No I'm not, see List of administrators --Icke 11:40, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Admin

So, since you've been active and demonstrated that you are a trusted user, you've been given admin tools. Welcome to the (sadly inactive) team. Feel free to ask me questions you may have, and I'll try to get you good answers as quick as I can. --JonTheMon 15:39, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Possesed Armor

Are you SURE you believe that only Armored Skeletons give Broken Armor Debuff?I got swarmed on a Blood Moon by those guys (Coupled with a load of Werewolves and Clowns and for some odd reason...Eye of Cthulu), and I then got Broken Armor for 1 minute duration. I was nowhere near any Armored Skeletons. I didn't get any screenshots, but I'll post them here once I get another Blood Moon (And a way to deal with those damn clowns. I hate them) 71.191.153.8 23:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I have access to the source code and it seems only Armored Skeletons give that debuff. --Icke 06:38, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Admin

Hi Icke. The admins have been talking, and we'd like to promote you to the team. We haven't really heard back from you though, so nothing has happened yet... So... Do you want to be an admin? happypal (talk • contribs) 09:52, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind, it looks like you were promoted about 10 days ago. Welcome to the team! happypal (talk • contribs) 09:59, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Mod Info

I was wondering if mod info is allowed here. I know many wikis prohibit it, as it can be confusing to viewers. I would be willing to aid the admin team in adding any necessary info/templates, etc. GoldSpear01 22:37, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Reverting

I was wondering why you keep reverting the edits I make? Specially, the one about plumber's shirt/pant being available during the day before the Full Moon. I have verified it twice, that this does occur. Thanks, --Highlanderstl 02:54, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about not telling why I reverted those edits, but maintaining the wiki takes too much of my time, so I usually don't say why. For this edit it is because it's invalid. I have source code access and the chance is 33%. For this edit it is because it's not a bug, he is supposed to sell those clothes at that moment. --Icke 08:20, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
He is suppose to sell plumber's close during the DAY before the Full Moon? If that is the case then the wiki description needs to be update. It just says during the Full Moon, which would be just at night time.--Highlanderstl 15:18, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Привет Icke!

Hello from Russia Icke. Russian section of TerrariaWiki need to remove some of the articles and improve many more! Since I can not delete the spam article (and those that do not have the right information), I want you gave me power of a moderator or an administrator. Many administrators of the Russian section somewhere go away and don't answered. In general it needs major repairs. Or tell me who can give me this power.

P.S. Sorry me for my English, I know it though, but on 4/5.

P.P.S. My works and the changes can be found in my contribution. User Alex Great (77.35.30.134 05:02, 13 July 2012 (UTC))

Unfortunately I can't help you with this. Only the bureaucrats of the Russian wiki and Curse members can promote you to administrator. If the bureaucrats are inactive you can try contacting Wynthyst (a Curse member) and ask him if he can promote you. --Icke 11:03, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
It's bad that you can not help. Our bureaucrats and Curse members almost all have left the project. Because the Terraria project was freeze (hopefully not for long). I take your advice and talk to Wynthyst. =) --Alex Great 14:27, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Dotted boxes

In my guide i am making, Guide:Defense in PvP, I keep on getting on getting these dotted boxes around my name. It is so annoying!!!!! Please tell me how to get rid of them.--User:Mr. Fluffykins 5:49 11. 8.2012

Lines that start with spaces produce dotted boxes. If you want to indent, use a colon : instead. I just edited your page. Equazcion (talk) 00:08, 12 Aug 2012 (UTC)

Skeltrons hands have 800 hp on the latest version of the game.

Why do you kep saying it has 600 when It dosen't? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.3.11.232

Because he doesn't. Either you don't have the latest version or some mod that is changing his hp, but his normal hp is 600. Or as the source code would say: "this.lifeMax = 600;" or as shown in this screenshot: Skeletron Hand HP.png --Icke 20:08, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Thank you!

Curse would like to recognize the work and dedication of the wiki community administrators with a token of our thanks. To do that, we need mailing information. If you would like to participate, and receive our thank you gift email me at [email protected] with your username, and real world mailing information. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 16:47, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Not to suck up or anything, but in several times I lose interest, disappear, then return to the game, I consistently see your name turn up in the wiki's activity list. So, tip of the hat and thanks for all your hard work. - Spinfx 12:10, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Spam bots

Any idea what the story is behind these bots? They seem absolutely pointless compared to the ones that usually spam ads. Also congrats on getting Admin here. I've been gone a while so it surprised me when I came back. Well, not totally surprised since I completely called it before that if anyone else would be made an admin it would be you and/or JonTheMon. --Moxxy 19:48, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Welcome back. Those bots do indeed seem kinda pointless. I would guess that some kid was bored and made those bots, considering their complexity. (Pick random edit link, post random text and use some random characters as edit summary.) Or maybe someone just hates wikis, because he was banned on one of them or so. --Icke 21:32, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
I was thinking about this. It might be attempted "Bayesian poisoning", where a spammer hopes to make boards' (and wikis') trainable spam filters start to recognize innocent words as indications of spam. Once the admins of the boards see the trainable filters as being unreliable, they might disable them. This wiki may not have a trainable filter, but these are probably broad attacks on all anonymous-accessible wikis. Just a theory. Equazcion (talk) 21:55, 16 Nov 2012 (UTC)
Bayesian poisoning is almost certainly what this is. Spammers tend to shoot blind... easier to just hit anything and everything with a web form than bothering to waste time sorting out where it actually has a point. After all, this is how their whole business model works... flood as much as possible with minimum effort so it pays off even if only a small percentage leads to any gain. It's no surprise they fight spam filters with the same level of effort. Eyes 01:18, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

You plagiarist.

hello, i am jeremopolis and the page you recently edited? you know, you wrote the ranger class? that was my page, and i dont appreciate you stinking it up. i wrote the warrior class, and i see you wrote the ranger class. all i can say is how dare you. almost all of the class was NOT written from scratch, but plaigerised from my warroir section. no plaigerism is one of the terraria wiki rules, and you broke it. all artivles are to be written in your own words, from scratch. i am deleting your ranger article, and any further work on my page i expect to be written in your own words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremopolis (talk • contribs)

I assume you are talking about the edits to Guide:Classes, made by 76.241.130.211? Cause the only edit I made to this page is this edit in which I fixed some links. Anyway if I look at the changes made by 76.241.130.211 I don't see any plagiarism. Although he copied some parts (and rewrote it to match the ranger class) it is clearly to maintain consistency between the classes, which we encourage. But now we are talking about the Rules, which you clearly didn't read as there is nothing about plagiarism (nor is there a reason too as copy/paste is to maintain consistency and you don't edit a wiki to gain credits or something like that, which you can read here), there is something in the rules about personal attacks and removing content from pages. This won't be tolerated so consider yourself warned. I've re-added the content you removed. --Icke 23:36, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Should have researched better!

Sorry about the Star Cannon thing. I suppose I should have done some better research. You can't tinker Hallowed armour to get a modifier and without it you can't get over 100 damage on a Star Cannon. It is still a thing that happens though, was it something they planned, I wonder? I believe you said once you have access to the source code, did they do that on purpose? If so, I wonder why they would have it if you can't legitimately get a Star Cannon to do that much damage in the first place... Anyway, thanks for the information, and apologies again.

No problem with adding that, things like that happen. It definitely isn't something they planned. It is just that falling stars from the sky and stars from the Star Cannon are the same projectile (maybe not a very smart move) and based on the damage it stays or disappears. --Icke 09:39, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I had to update that since the new changeover kinda messed everything up. Salls good though.--Jesthel (talk) 15:50, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Merchant Edit History

Hi, this message is regarding Undo revision 97624, in which the anomaly which I posted in the Merchant page was removed, I would like to clarify my intentions on the matter:

The note regarding the Merchant's inability to pronounce "Cthulhu" is referring to the Merchant's quote during a Blood Moon: "Have you seen Chith...Shith.. Chat... The big eye?"

However, the anomaly that I posted refers to the quote given when the Eye of Cthulhu has not been defeated: "I hope a scrawny kid like you isn't all that's standing between us and Cthulu's Eye." The text does, infact, write "Cthulu", rather than "Cthulhu", which is not what the aforementioned note is referencing.

I hope this makes my intentions easier to understand.

Regards. --EndoMatrix (talk) 22:54, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Ah, ok. Fixed it. --0icke0 (talk) 07:59, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
