Cây kiếm Copper Shortsword là cây kiếm yếu nhất trong dòng shortswords(Đoản kiếm) và là weapon(Vũ khí) yếu nhất game. Nó có một số phần nhỉnh hơn cây kiếm Tin Shortsword, ngoại trừ ở phiên bản 3DSPhiên bản Nintendo 3DS, thì cây Copper Shortsword mạnh tương đương Tin Shortsword.

Ở phiên bản Phiên bản Desktop Desktop, Phiên bản Console Console, Phiên bản Console Hệ máy cũ Old-gen console và Phiên bản Mobile Mobile, khi tạo nhân vật thì sẽ luôn có Copper Shortsword ở trong ô đầu tiên trong inventory(Hành trang), và có thể có modifier trên cây kiếm đó. Ở phiên bản 3DSPhiên bản Nintendo 3DS, những nhân vật mới sẽ luôn bắt đầu với cây Wooden Sword thay vì Copper Shortsword.

Giống như những cây shortswords(đoản kiếm), thì cây kiếm này có tầm đánh rất ngắn, ở bản (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) nó có thể sử dụng ở mọi hướng. Tốc độ đánh cao của nó giúp nó có lợi thế trước những kẻ địch yếu, những kẻ địch có lối tấn công tuyến tính fighter. Tuy nhiên, những người chơi mới nên sử dụng Wooden Sword Copper Pickaxe hay bow với những kẻ địch đầu game thay vì Copper Shortsword.

Modifier tốt nhất của nó là Legendary.

Trivia

  • The uselessness of the Copper Shortsword, even at the beginning of the game which it is supposedly suited for, has earned it "memetic" status within the Terraria community. On videos of people successfully completing challenges in Terraria such as unusual boss fights or speedruns, for example, comments saying "Now do it with a copper shortsword!" are not a rare sight, to make the seemingly impossible challenge even more ridiculous. However, there have been videos where bosses have been defeated with a Copper Shortsword.
    • The developers seem to have made fun of this idea by including the Copper Shortsword in the recipe of the Zenith(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), an endgame melee weapon.
  • A Tiny Copper Shortsword is the smallest possible sword in the game.
  • It is possible to spawn with a Broken Copper Shortsword. This reduces its damage to 3, which makes the early game even harder. Furthermore, a Broken Copper Shortsword is the weapon with the second-lowest damage in the game, as the weapon with the lowest damage is the Broken Wooden Hammer, which deals 1 damage. However, a player in this condition can simply make a new sword, which is generally accepted as the best course of action for a new character anyways.
  • Because the Copper Shortsword autoswings on the Phiên bản Nintendo 3DSPhiên bản Nintendo 3DS, its use is slightly increased. However, 3DSPhiên bản Nintendo 3DS players start with a wooden broadsword, a mostly better weapon.

  • Desktop 1.0.5: Newly created characters will now spawn with a Copper Shortsword.
