The Zenith attacking Target Dummies.
The Zenith is a Hardmode, post-Moon Lord melee weapon crafted using a variety of swords obtained throughout the game's progression. It fires fast-moving sword sprites of itself and its component swords towards the cursor in a curved path circling back to the player. The sword sprites can pass through solid blocks, and every sword except the first one homes in on enemies within a 20-tile radius of their path. The Zenith has a base 14% critical strike chance as opposed to the usual 4%.
Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes
- The first sword generated on each swing will always be a Zenith projectile, which generates a mint-green trail. Each sword generated will have a unique swing color, which generates a large amount of light.
- The Zenith can only go up to 600 pixels (37.5 tiles) vertically and 960 pixels (60 tiles) horizontally.
- Increasing melee speed affects the number of swords that appear per use, but not the number of swords thrown per second or the swords' velocity. At default melee speed, 3 swords will appear per use. Higher melee speed will cause fewer swords besides the Zenith to appear. With high enough attack speed, it is possible for only the Zenith itself to appear. However, the Zenith will lose the ability to home in on enemies, since the Zenith itself never homes.
- Each sword sprite can hit 8 times per second, and may hit multiple times on a single enemy, depending on size and positioning.
- Swords also deal damage behind the player while returning.
- Despite being nearly identical to its copper counterpart, the Tin Shortsword cannot be used to craft the Zenith. This is presumably due to the Copper Shortsword's role as the very first sword every player will encounter (with the exception of Journey Mode characters).

Tips
- The Zenith is generally considered as the game's strongest weapon, making it ideal for any type of fight.
- If the player has made a Journey Mode character or has lost their Copper Shortsword and has no Copper Ore in the world, Copper can be obtained by using a Chlorophyte Extractinator with Tin Ore or Tin Bars, fishing, using an Extractinator, killing slimes for bonus drops, dipping Tin Ore into Shimmer, or bringing some ore from a different world which has Copper.
Trivia
- In regular combat, most players will see the Zenith dealing around 20,000 to 30,000 DPS. However, it has the potential to reach much higher DPS numbers:
- Against most single targets, it can reach more than 70,000 DPS with the right armor, accessories, modifiers, buffs, and correct positioning.
- Against segmented worm enemies like The Destroyer, it can surpass 1,000,000 DPS.
- In an optimized environment, the Zenith can do more than 7,000,000 DPS.
- The Zenith can defeat the Moon Lord on Master Mode (277,311 combined HP) in about 11 seconds.
- The word zenith is defined as "the time/point at which something is at its most strength or successful".[1] This ties in with the fact that the Zenith is often considered the final and best weapon in the game.
- The Zenith represents the player's journey, as implied from the achievement description and crafting materials.
- Before the release of the 1.4.0.1 update, the sword had various placeholders and scrapped names, including Final Fractal and Summit.[2][3] The precursor design of the Zenith exists as an unobtainable weapon, the First Fractal, which resembles an upgraded Terra Blade.
- The Zenith projectiles will always include both the Light's Bane and Blood Butcherer, no matter which one was used.
- The Zenith's projectiles include the Terragrim, despite not being in its crafting tree. The Bee Keeper has been in the Zenith's animation since its release in 1.4.0.1, but was only added to the crafting recipe in the 1.4.0.3 hotfix.
- The following is a list of all swords displayed in the Zenith's attack animation:
- The Zenith has the most complex crafting tree in Terraria, consisting of 22 different base items; surpassing the Shellphone (16 items), Cell Phone (14 items), and Ankh Shield (12 items).
- The Terra Blade causes most of this complexity.
- Using Teleporters and portals while using the Zenith causes each sword to move in sharp angles and strange directions.
- The Zenith item is clearly visible in darkness when dropped.
- Each sword generates a different swing color:[4]
