Steam items
There are several collectible items from Terraria available on Steam. This page lists all of them.
Most Steam items are tradeable (can be used in direct trading with other Steam users) and marketable (can be traded on the Steam Community Market).
Steam Trading Cards
Steam Trading Cards were added to Terraria on July 15, 2013, shortly before the 1.2 update. These cards will automatically be awarded while playing the game, assuming the user bought the Steam version of the game. For Terraria, users can receive up to five cards while playing. After that, it is possible to obtain more cards via trading or via Booster Packs. Each trading card has a rarer Foil variant. All trading cards are always tradeable and marketable.
Steam Trading Cards can be used to craft badges. When crafting badges, users can also randomly receive emoticons (which can be used in Steam chat) and profile backgrounds (which the user can display on their profile).
Trading Cards
There are a total of nine trading cards.

Booster Pack
Booster Packs are granted randomly to eligible users that have received all card drops by playing the game. The booster pack can then be opened or traded. They are always tradeable and marketable.
Opening the booster pack consumes it and grants the user three random trading cards.
Badges
Badges are crafted from trading cards. Normal badges are crafted with normal cards, while Foil badge is crafted with Foil cards. Badges are not tradeable or marketable.
Crafting consumes one trading card of each kind, and increases the badge by one level. Crafted badges can be shown on the user's Steam profile. Crafting a badge also increases the user's Steam level and randomly grants emoticons and profile backgrounds.
Normal badges have five levels, while the Foil badge only has one level.

Trivia
- The description of the Underground Jungle profile background is a reference to the song Welcome to the Jungle by the rock band Guns N' Roses.
- The description of the Crimson profile background references the version that the Biome was first introduced.
- Even though The Dirtiest Block is mentioned in the description of the ":dirtblock:" emoticon, it was introduced in 1.4.4, a much later update.
