The Bee is a small flying enemy that usually appears in the Underground Jungle. They can be spawned by the Queen Bee, and will also appear when destroying Bee Hives and occasionally when mining Hive blocks (which are mainly found in Bee Hive biomes). They attack by flying into their target, dealing contact damage. In Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Bees will inflict the Poisoned debuff to players for 2–6 / 2.5–7.5 seconds.

On the Desktop version Desktop version, Console version Console version, and Mobile version Mobile version, Bees can also damage other enemies. Bees can select all enemies (except themselves and the Queen Bee) and the player as target, and they always attack the nearest target. Bees' attacks deal 100% contact damage to the target, and they will also take 100% contact damage from the target.[1]

Notes

Tips

  • Since Bees can spawn from Hive blocks, it is recommended that the Bee Hive is entered with caution, even though they have little defense and health. While even the lowest-tier pickaxe, the Copper Pickaxe, is capable of killing them, breaking too many Hives at once can overwhelm a player with low-tier armor.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Bee: "Found in hives and nests all throughout the jungle, these tiny pests will swarm an adventurer at every turn."
