Request to be added

Heya! I'd like to be added to the list of editors. My expertise is PC (mostly) and 3DS (a little). I know a lot about the general flow of the game, and how to advance through it. I've been working on rewriting/cleaning up the guide articles, so I've got something to do. Thanks for considering. Kwonunn (talk) 21:38, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Added. Thank you for fixing up the Guides. They have many small errors. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 02:47, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Request to be added

Hello! I'd like to be on the editor list as well. My areas are in old-gen console (PS3) and new-gen console (Xbox One). I've gotten to know a lot about update 1.3 ever since I got to play new-gen, and I'm currently working on adding a few missing things in the wiki. However, I'm not yet so good with templates and tables. Thanks! Diamondcat6746 (talk) 21:20, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Added. :) Thank you for your contributions. – Ferretwings (talk)

Request to be added

Howdy, i'd like to be added to the editor's list. My main areas that i'd be most helpful in are Xbox one, and mobile. As of right now, I've been working on verifying information as well as adding some trivia I feel could be interesting. However, I do have a little trouble editing sources of items as well as tables. Thanks for reading. SnoopyFerret659 (talk) 22:56, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

Request to be added

Ok so I helped with the Wii U version of the achievements page. I wanna be added because I have iOS (don’t play on it much) and Wii U versions. I don’t just randomly go search for info though. I look at a page with verify, or info contradicting me, or missing info, or people who want specific info about the Wii U version. I’m currently in a mage play through but I am willing to spend some time for this wiki. I am slow progressing on my play through because I like building and specific items, but I can get to Hardmode in about 1-3 hours minimum with a new character and world if needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theextroardinary (talkcontribs) at 18:13, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Request to be added

Hello. I would like to be added also. I'm best at Mobile, PC, and 3DS ( but not much). I've contributed by adding the Guide: Goblin Army Strategies and fixing the rewrite request for Defense. I've had a lot of experience with the game and have been a supporter since 2017/18. I'm still learning about complex commands like templates, images, and types of pages (such as /cs). I am currently working on rewrite requests and Guides. I like taking my time and collecting items; however, I have managed to get to wave fifteen in a Pumpkin Moon with Local Multiplayer. The use time on the Tombstone is wrong.

GraveStoneCought.jpg

As you can see here, The Tombstone has the wrong usetime. Ont he wiki it's listed as 15 when it's actually 10.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Codangels (talk • contribs) at 21:12, 5 January 2020

The item statistic useTime is what translates to the tool speed of tools, or, if not applicable, an internal use time. The actual use time, as it is commonly known, and referred to on the wiki, is represented by the useAnimation statistic. (This is not the only case of slightly confusing source code naming.) A good example is the Clockwork Assault Rifle, whose useTime, 4, is one third of its useAnimation, 12, resulting in the effect of three bullets being shot per use (the Golden Shower has a similar effect). See also Use time#Notes, and Module:Iteminfo for an explanation of all statistics. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 19:37, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

Already bought the game

I have kind of a weird question. I have Terraria on my Xbox, but I just got a new computer that I want to get Terraria on. If I go to buy it it says I need to pay. Is there a way to just install because I already own it or do I need to rebuy it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.101.192 at 02:54, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

TL;DR: Yep, you need to pay again. Sorry!
You need to purchase Terraria again, as the PC version of Terraria has some distinct differences compared to the Xbox version. Also, 1.4 is now on PC but not Xbox so there are content differences. DanZeMan (talk) 21:05, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Blood Moon Rarity

I Don't think the rarity for the blood moon to occur is correct, since I've had 4 blood moons BACK to BACK. :D — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.243.58.162 at 20:07, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

That's most likely due to the nature of RNG: Given the large sample size of thousands of players, someone will eventually get back to back blood moons. Pbone3 (talk) 18:38, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Separating information from different versions of the game

The Terraria Wiki is an extremely useful tool for gaining access to accurate information across all versions of Terraria. However, it can be difficult to interpret at times as a result of the version differences, and there are some redundancies. To give a few examples:

  • Terra Blade's sentence "The Terra Blade becomes available after defeating one (Old-gen console version 3DS Version) / all (Desktop Version Console Version Mobile Version) Mechanical Bosses."
  • Palm Wood's version symbols on every craftable item, and itself, despite the version-exclusive page heading.
  • "Spectre Wings" and "Ghost Wings" being listed as separate items in Wings.

To give an example of how differences are handled on other wikis, see the Splatoon Wiki. Here is a page involving different versions: https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Splattershot And a page involving just the newest version: https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Splat_Dualies

As you can see, they use tabs to separate the versions, along with different sections in the article. I believe something similar could be implemented in the Terraria Wiki to make information easier to understand. The majority of Terraria Wiki's users likely play on the latest version of the game (Desktop / Mobile / Console), but for those who play on Old-gen Console / 3DS, there information would still be there.

I created a sample here. It could likely be optimized to remove some duplicate information, but hopefully the main idea is clear.

Unknown Easter egg?

So im just sitting here, messing around and getting farther than i ever have before (steam user name Venompool25) and suddenly, as im messing around at the homescreen, having just switched worlds, i click by accident and the screen turns dark, i panic for a second thinking i just did something, then realize the screen isnt moving, i let go it starts moving again, and i quickly click again and it stops, i look where im clicked and its the sun, turns out you can move the sun on the homescreen (I'm excited bc i cant find any information online and it seems to me no one has found this yet) Daddipool69 (talk) 08:05, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

This is actually a known feature. It is documented here: Day and night cycle#Trivia (comes up when searching for "sun" on the wiki). --Rye Greenwood (talk) 21:05, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

What’s the resolution?

I’m having some trouble with finding the resolution anyone know or know if it’s on a certain page? I just want to have my mod be the same resolution as the core game, so anyone know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.214.104.119 at 20:44, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

There's a chance I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that Terraria automatically attempts to find the default resolution of the display being used, and the resolution of the game can be changed in the settings, so there is no fixed value - Terraria just changes the in-game objects to fit the resolution as necessary. I'm not sure what you are trying to do in the mod but best of luck to you! Let me know if you need clarification. DanZeMan (talk) 21:08, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Server

I need help. My server says I am on updated and I'm on the old version which is 1.2, but I'm actually on 1.3 by the way I'm on mobile. 1.3 Terraria for ps3

So I know your going to judge me for having a ps3. I really want to play 1.3 because I’m stuck with the game being technically beaten once you defeat golem. It doesn’t even feel that good. The golem doesn’t end the game in some cool way which makes we want to get 1.3 more. I try to get a ps4 but I can’t. Can anyone help somehow? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.9.5.11 at 01:34, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Sorry to break it to you but they aren't ever going to release 1.3 for old-gen console due to specification limitations (the consoles can't run the update). As for you wanting to get a PS4 or other device that runs 1.3 Terraria, I can recommend getting it on XBOX 1, PS4 or any desktop computer (Windows/Linux/Mac). However, I can't help you in the way of getting those specifically, I can only recommend that you get a device matching those descriptions (i.e. I cannot advise you on how to obtain any of these, other than looking at the websites). Desktop version also has 1.4, which is going to take some time getting to consoles and mobile (probably a year at the very least). DanZeMan (talk) 12:32, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

This page is meant for discussion about all facets of the wiki. You can bring up an issue you think should be discussed among editors, ask for editing help, suggest an improvement, etc. Please just remember that this is not really intended for discussion related to the game itself; the forums are a better place for that. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 16:10, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Lore

I just created Lore. It should probably be linked from the main page, although I'm not sure which section. It should also be linked from {{lore}}. Coding here has gotten a bit cryptic so I'm going to leave this to those more familiar with it at the moment. Feel free to suggest and discuss where links to this might belong (as this is content completely external to the game and not affecting gameplay, but still official). Equazcion (talk) 20:38, 12 Apr 2020 (UTC)

Hmm.. the only section I can see it fitting into on the main page is "mechanics", but it's not really a mechanic is it? I wouldn't consider it a big enough part of the game to be one of the featured pages at the top either. --Eraloiz (talk) 09:36, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Recovery potions bug

I don't know if it is a random bug that happened in my world by accident or if it is something usefull, but... It works similar to throwing an object while holding the fishing rod, if you have a potion in hand and open the menu (with the auto pause option activated), if you release an object you will use 1 time the potion you have in hand , even if you have the Potion Sickness debuff, also this will not give you the potion sickness debuff — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.80.241.26 at 06:52, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Updating Russian section template

Good day. I am the administrator of the Russian section of the Terraria Wiki. I was absent from the project for a long time and I noticed that the English section templates became very complex. I know the wiki markup , HTML and CSS quite well and could update templates and articles. But I am completely unaware of LUA and Scribundo. The process of adapting templates for i18n and i10n seemed to me also difficult. Just copying the templates from here did not bring the proper result. Nevertheless, there is one important module on the Russian wiki that allows us to load English names and files in articles about items and creatures: ru:Модуль:Файловое хранилище и ru:Модуль:Файловое хранилище/Данные. I really hope that you can help us. I also invite to this discussion my colleagues: PhysicalIllusion, Sattonru. ← Alex Great talk/rus? 03:31, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Hey Alex, glad to see you back! As you already saw, every templates are now automatized and somehow connected to each other. The base templates for the whole thing are "Template:Localization" (and its subpage /register which will allow you to register the Russian l10n on /l10n pages), Template:Tr and the Russian language database that should have been created at Template:Tr/db-ru. I guess the next step is to import/update all the new templates and their subpages in order to create the cargo tables, which are Template:Npc infobox, Template:Item infobox, Template:Image, Template:Item, Template:Recipes, and Template:Exclusive and also every pages from the Data templates (except the non-Russian/English databases obviously) and Modules categories.
  • Template:Npc infobox takes its information from Module:Npcinfo where they are all stored and some of its subpages.
  • Template:Item infobox takes its information from Module:Iteminfo and also from some of its subpages.
  • Template:Item now replaces every item redirect-related templates such as Il2c, Item link, Linked icon... and translates automatically to the corresponding language of the wiki from the translation database (Tr/db-ru) and adds automatically icons from Template:Exclusive.
  • Template:Recipes replaces now both the Crafting recipe and Crafts templates. Every recipe are stored in Recipes/<NAME_OF_CRAFTING_STATION> and are also automatically translated by Tr/db-ru.
Also, there is no need to add the lang parameter with the L10n template on the Russian wiki because it automatically detects that it has to look for the Russian database. I also advise you to let templates' names in English.
I hope I was clear enough to guide you through this sorted madness. If you're looking for precise details about Scribunto and Lua, Rye Greenwood and Westgrass might be the people you're looking for, you should come to the Discord to discuss. -- Dinoxel talk 23:13, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the detailed answer. I will think with colleagues about updating templates. "I also advise you to let templates' names in English." – in many templates we use Russian parameter names (for example, name =название =, image =изображение =… Do we need to leave the parameters in English? ← Alex Great talk/rus? 01:20, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Well, I don't think it's possible at the moment to edit the parameter names in another language than English because the three major language Wikis (FR, DE, and ZH) using Template:Tr use English paramaters. I think that was the best solution they found to create the localization templates but I suppose there must be a way to have a default name and its translations as parameters. --Dinoxel talk 01:54, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Localization of parameter names would be possible to integrate into the current l10n system. The question is how much it is needed: At the moment, we mostly just copy the template call from the English source code and copy it on the language wiki – no further alteration necessary (at least most of the time), yet completely localized output. If you insist on using Russian parameter names, then I guess we can make that work, although it will be a lot of work, given the number of templates. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 16:10, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

UI style of the Official Terraria Wiki

Hi I just had a thought/suggestion, but first if this is the wrong place to post this then can you please show me where?

I believe that it would be nice to see a more immersive wiki with things that move when you go over them, terraria styled info boxes, possibly a more comfortable and interactive style, just a thought (: 82.32.207.101 14:18, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Documentation via module

In the Russian wiki for documentation of templates we use Documentation module. It helps to create and standardize documentation for templates. See also Doc template in Russian wiki and Зм / Зм/док template for example. I believe that the English wiki needs such module and it needs to update documentation templates. ← Alex Great talk/rus? 14:40, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Old One's Army armor sets

I've been adding more documentation to the Old One's Army weapons, sentries, and armor sets. One thing I've noticed is that, in-game, each armor set says it 'boosts the -whatever sentry- significantly' and provides a special effect like Ballista Panic, Oiled, increased range, etc.

But the wiki only doesn't mention the 'significant boost', so I wasn't sure what it was.

Through experimentation, I've found that the special sentry for each armor fires much faster when using that armor. For instance, the explosive trap fires what seems to be twice as fast with Red Riding Armor. I suspect there are other changes, too; perhaps the Explosive trap's radius of effect increases.

But I don't know how to search for that in the code, or test for it. Is there any way someone can help me find the exact stat changes to sentries when using the correct armor?

Similarly, I'd love to have help making the Gif images of the sentries' attacks. Thanks! If no one has the time to help, I'll continue adding what I can discover on my own. Mathbrush1 (talk) 05:21, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

Had a look through the source code and here's what I found about the set bonuses:
Huntress: Explosive trap explosions have a 1/2 chance to give 4-9 seconds of Oiled. Reduces Explosive Trap recharge rate from 1.83 seconds to 1.23 seconds.
Red Riding: Includes Huntress Oiled effect. Reduces Explosive Trap recharge rate from 1.83 seconds to 0.67 seconds.
Monk: 1/6 (16.67%) fixed chance to crit. Increases Lightning Aura damage rate from 0.5 seconds to 0.41 seconds.
Shinobi Infiltrator: Includes Monk damage rate. 1/4 (25%) fixed chance to crit. Increases Lightning Aura size by 4(tiles?).
Apprentice: Increases Flameburst velocity by 40% (base value is different for each tier), target range by 50% and field of view by 90% (I think - the value changes from 1 to 0.1)
Dark Artist: Includes all Apprentice bonuses, only other thing I can find is it increases the amount of particles?
Squire: Increases Ballista velocity multiplier from 16 to 21 and penetration from 4 to 7. Gives Ballista Panic! for 5 seconds on hit which increases Ballista fire rate by 66%.
Valhalla Knight: Includes all Squire bonuses. Increases Ballista fire rate from 3 seconds to 1.66 seconds.
All of this info should probably be included on their pages somehow. User:NeoLeoLuke might be able to help you with adding GIFs of the sentry attacks - they've been working hard on the weapon animation project. --Eraloiz (talk) 09:02, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
Thank you, I'll add this into the pages unless someone beats me to it! I really appreciate this!

Script Time Limit is Destroying the Statues Page

If you go to the statues page, linked here: https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Statues , every script past the 'W' statue is replaced with "The time allocated for running scripts has expired." This makes the statues page very much less useful. We should either move different types of statues to different pages to lower the script runtime, or find some other way to write the page, since readers aren't getting all of the info we've wrote anyway. "Desktop, Console and Mobile" sprites or "old" sprites

I've noticed that several pages which show two sprites, claiming that one sprite is for desktop/console/mobile/etc (like Ice Bat) or has an "old" sprite, (which is no longer used, such as Solidifier and Rainbow Rod) seem to be incorrect. In Mobile, the Rainbow Rod uses the old striped sprite, the Solidifier uses the sprite with an extra shine in the window, and the Ice Bat is dark blue, not light blue/crystalline. What is the issue? --2057clones (talk) 01:27, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Items and NPCs have to be treated differently; they use different infobox templates:
  • Items, on one hand, always show "old <item name> sprite", which does not necessarily mean it is no longer used at all, but only that at least one version of Terraria (most likely Desktop version Desktop) uses an updated version.
  • NPCs, on the other hand, have a specific version system and it is possible to assign different versions to the different images. Now since there are many NPCs who have two sprites – one used by Old-gen console version Old-gen console and 3DSNintendo 3DS version and one used by Desktop version Desktop, Console version Console, and Mobile version Mobile – these versions are the default setting if there are two images in the infobox. It is possible to override this by adding a parameter to the {{npc infobox}}: | imageversion2 = {{eversions|1.3.5|invert=y|raw=y}}, if the sprite was updated in 1.3.5, for instance. Of course the versions can also be hard-coded into the infobox: | imageversion2 = console-mobile-old-gen-3ds.

Melee damage calculations

I have an idea about how damage works, but I don't know if its correct.

It seems like melee damage increase, critical hit chance increase, and melee speed increase all act multiplicatively, so that if something (like the Shinobi Infiltrator armor) has

  • +20% melee damage,
  • +20% melee critical hit chance, and
  • +20% melee speed,

that it would increase damage by 1.2*1.2*1.2=1.728, a total increase in DPS of +72%.

But there are a few things I'm not sure about.

  • Defense makes melee damage better than the others, right? Since critical hits double the damage after defense is taken out?
  • Melee speed and critical hit chance seem like they'd have similar effects, but is there a point where melee speed can't be improved (i.e. use time is too fast?)

Edit: If these calculations are correct, Beetle Scale Mail would give a max DPS boost (with 3 beetles) of 1.44*1.08*1.12=1.74, which is only a tiny fraction higher than Shinobi Infiltrator armor. Since beetles aren't always active, that would make Shinobi armor on average the highest DPS-granting melee armor in the game. Obviously enemies with high defense or weapons with low attack would make the Beetle scale mail perhaps better.

1.4 upcoming content

I don't know how to edit pages so that's why I'm doing this here but Gameraiders101 latest YouTube video on 1.4's master mode is chock-full of 1.4 content which can be added to the upcoming features page and I encourage you to look closely at the boss emotes and you might notice some new things.

Make Master Mode stats within brackets [ ]

I think that for master mode stats, brackets should be used. This will separate them from the parentheses used for Expert Mode stats. Either brackets or braces { }.

Example:

On death, Softcore players will drop half (75%) [ 100% ] of their coins.

I hope people will accept this.

What is the plan to properly update the wiki?

Terraria 1.4 is out. I see many users creating pages for new content, most of wich are stubs. What is the plan to update the wiki, step by step? --Superwill771 (talk) 00:30, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Everyone is contributing to the wiki update effort as they discover things through gameplay. A few of us technical people are additionally going over the game files and source code, to capture graphics and make sure info is accurate. Equazcion (talk) 20:15, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Can you please specify where exactly you are seeing the string "Moonlord" and think it should be changed to "Moon Lord"? A search revealed that "Moonlord" actually occurs very rarely on the wiki – only on talk or user pages and within citations from official sources or Terraria's source code. I have deleted the file "Moonlord.png" (it was a duplicate anyway), thanks for noting that. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 20:05, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Correct format for adding 1.4.01 content?

I tried editing Keybrand its correct, 1.4.0.1 damage, but I made a bit of a mess of it and didn't know how to handle the 4 at symbols (@@@@). Should I just leave those things alone for now, or there a better way? I used {{eicons|1.4.0.1}}, but the old version of eicons still displays the desktop icon.

Edit: I've changed the old eicons to include "not = dreadnautilus" to get rid of the desktop icon.

Mathbrush1 (talk) 04:48, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

The item stat changes of pre-1.4 items are currently in the process of being transferred to the wiki's database. Once that is complete, all item infoboxes will show the most recent, Desktop 1.4 stats. However, we strive to document the entirety of Terraria, so we also have to include the stats for the other versions, which do not have 1.4 at the moment. This can be achieved by modifying the infobox call as follows: | damage = @@@@ {{eicons|1.4.0.1|small=y}} / 70 {{eicons|1.3.0.1|not=1.4.0.1|small=y}} / 55 {{eicons|1.3.0.1|invert=y|small=y}}. As described on the template documentation, the string @@@@ will be replaced in the output by the automatic value from the database (which is, as mentioned before, currently for a couple of items not the most recent Desktop value, but will soon be).
For now, since the new values are not up yet, please just put the new value in place of the @@@@ that I wrote above: | damage = 90 {{eicons|1.4.0.1|small=y}} / 70 {{eicons|1.3.0.1|not=1.4.0.1|small=y}} / 55 {{eicons|1.3.0.1|invert=y|small=y}}. It can be changed back to the @@@@ once the database is updated.
If you find other stats that have changed in 1.4 and are now displayed incorrectly, feel free to proceed in the same manner. On pages where there is no damage parameter yet, add one with | damage = <new 1.4 value> {{eicons|1.4.0.1|small=y}} / <old value> {{eicons|1.4.0.1|small=y}}; or, if the entity is already exclusive to some versions (taking Meowmere as an example), | damage = <new 1.4 value> {{eicons|1.4.0.1|small=y}} / <old value> {{eicons|Meowmere|not=1.4.0.1|small=y}}.
Also please remember to use {{eicons}} with the logically correct parameter value. While {{eicons|Dreadnautilus}} and {{eicons|1.4.0.1}} might produce the same output, they're not logically equivalent: The former implies that a stat change is based on when the Dreadnautilus was implemented (which would make sense for an item directly related to it, like a trophy it drops), whereas the latter implies that a stat change was set in effect in the 1.4.0.1 patch – which is correct in this case. (The same of course applies to the not parameter.)

Combat Wrench drop by the Mechanic and destructible dungeon secrets

When I rescued my mechanic from the dungeon, I didn't have an oped house so she promptly perished, leaving me with her combat wrench. There is no page on the wiki for this item, so I'm guessing it's a 1.4 item. Another thing I found was crumbly walls in the dungeon that break away at the touch of a pickaxe. I have never seen these before in my time with terraria, and don't see a line in the dungeon page about them, so they must be 1.4 aswell. Both of these things happened in master mode.

I can confirm the crumbling walls are in Classic mode, as well. It seems like a huge chunk of the dungeon is buried by the walls. There's a lot of new traps, too, mostly crumbling floors over huge pit traps, some with water. Mathbrush1 (talk) 01:32, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Difficulty Mode changes

So, I have some changes to propose based on some changes in the game. First, one of the tips refers to Expert mode as "Expert Mode", so mentions of the "Difficulty Modes" (Journey, Expert and Master) should be modified accordingly. Second, the game now uses orange to signify Expert Mode in-game, so {{Expert}} should also have its color changed. --172.58.172.62 00:50, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

NPC Universal Formatting?

With 1.4 adding a ton of content that will require new sections on every NPC page thanks to the new Happiness mechanic, is there any format that is being considered to be the standard across the town NPC pages? Some NPC pages have notes as the very first section, most others have Items as the first section (if they have one), and things like Achievements, Trivia, and Notes are in any order under the sun.

If it's possible to propose one: Function (Help, Heal, Items Sold, Quests, etc), Secondary Function (If they sell items, their other function, like Quests for Dye Trader, Status for Dryad, Eternia Crystal for Tavernkeep, etc), Happiness preferences, Quotes, Names, Achievements, Notes, Trivia. Additionally, potentially consider merging Notes and Tips into a single Notes section, as having both seems a bit superfluous. Warpshard (talk) 02:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

This is a great idea, and I agree with you on this, Town NPC formatting has gone haywire at the moment with everyone adding things. I'm not great with formatting but I'll see what I can do - maybe someone better than me could organise something. Thank you! DanZeMan (talk) 12:34, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

1.4 Stardust rework and trivia section

I hate to bring up this old topic again but with the upcoming release and rework of the stardust armor set, it's been made fairly clear on the official forum that the set bonus is a reference to JJBA. The original concept and design may have been made with WoW in mind but this new rework along with the quote "All resemblance to a certain anime is purely coincidental", I think the idea this can be considered a Jojo reference is indisputable. Yoraiz0r confirmed that it wasn't a Jojo reference initially and this made sense since the initial concept bore little resemblance other than appearance. I believe Red also confirmed that this is a Jojo reference though I don't have the link to that. I think the trivia section should at least be appended to account for this rework. 209.202.205.58 05:04, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Can an item have no item ID? Dry rockets and Cluster Rockets

I've been working on Rocket and the Item IDs page doesn't list these rockets anywhere, yet they can be bought. What's going on here? Mathbrush1 (talk) 00:27, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Also the Item IDs page says that 1.4.0.1 put Item IDs up to 5042 but ID 5000 and on is old stuff no longer in the game. Did someone manually set some IDs to the 5000 range thinking the game would never get there? Mathbrush1 (talk) 00:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Never mind, {{ItemIdFromName|Cluster Rocket I}} gives 4445. Doesn't show up in the table, though. Mathbrush1 (talk) 00:55, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
The Item IDs page had problems because of the clash between old-gen-/3DS-exclusive items, which use IDs greater than 5000, and the new 1.4 items with IDs greater than 5000. Previously, only items that had a page and an {{item infobox}} on that page would show up on the list (hence why the Cluster Rockets wouldn't appear), but this has been changed. It should now always display all Desktop items. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 19:01, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Crate potion recipe is incorrect for PC

You are right, the Blinkroot is not required for crafting the Crate Potion. Crafting recipes are taken from Terraria's source code, and this one in particular has a typo in it, so that the Blinkroot is (unintentionally) not included in-game, yet still managed to sneak its way into the wiki's database during the conversion to wikicode. What is the code that you tried and that didn't work? As already included in the Moon Lord's drop table code, not=1.4.0.1 subtracts the icons of all platforms that have 1.4 (at the moment only Desktop, but Console and Mobile at some point, too):
| Celebration Mk2|{{eicons|1.4.0.1}}|11.1%
| Celebration|{{eicons|Moon Lord|not=1.4.0.1}}|11.1%
--Rye Greenwood (talk) 19:01, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
desktop=n works too. 151.229.97.217 11:55, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Yes, that does indeed produce the same output – but only until other platforms receive 1.4. The entire exclusivity system is based on the idea that the platforms on which an entity is available change over time. Because of this fact, it used to be a huge effort to maintain correct about that exclusivity information whenever a new update came out. With these relative links to patches or entity names, however, it is nearly completely automated. For instance, while {{eicons|Moon Lord|not=1.4.0.1}} displays a Console and Mobile icon now, it will only display a Mobile icon once Console gets 1.4 – entirely on its own, no extra work needed. Contrary to that, {{eicons|Moon Lord|desktop=n}} would still display the Console icon after Console got 1.4; we would need to add an extra |console=n to make it display the correct icon again. This might seem trivial for one single {{eicons}} call, but it multiplies literally thousandfold taking into consideration the 4000-something articles on the wiki. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:45, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Moonlords drops on the treasure bag page haven't been updated (https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Treasure_Bags#Moon_Lord)

| {{item|Celebration}} {{eicons| desktop = 0}} || 11% || 1

These were some of the code changes (but not all) i tried but couldn't remove the desktop icon.

1.4: Master Mode’s Enemy Stats

It seems like you can just do 1.5x expert damage and and max life for master mode stats, but I still hope that we can have them added to the database or whatever the source of auto enemy status for infoboxes is instead of having to do it on each independent page. —Creeper_NoDenial

Still Crepeer_NoDenial here. Time 26 May afternoon UTC. Seems like Master mode doesn’t have a post-Plantera stage according to Template:master. Fine and that’s good to know. Auto infobox at this time is broken- also check next section. - Creeper_NoDenial 26 May 2020 UTC 17:23

NPC infobox template broken values as for 26 May 17h UTC

At this point NPC infobox automatic information is in chaos. Green slime says damage 6 / 112 and life 14 / 324 which has an expert mode status seems to be even higher than previous post-plantera status. Pretty sure we are not having a major update on this now. An example of this is Blue Slime, I have the old values imputed manually for master mode stats and well, witnessed the auto info going chaos. Currently you can see, in the brackets of expert values are the auto infobox value, marked with a ?, and the master mode values are manual inputs. That ? on Hardmode damage 96 is because I am currently unable to confirm that as I haven’t progressed to this point yet and am not into working on the game sources.

Just hoping that you can get this problem sorted out ASAP and provide a correct value as I’m currently on Master mode gameplay and well, without Wiki things are really frustrating. Bestiary isn’t helping that much but I am 100% sure with master mode pre-Hardmode damage 21, Blue Slime’s expert mode damage data won’t be that from the beginning. —- CreeperNoDenial 26 May 2020 UTC 17:22

Old 1.0.5 Unverified change nobody probably cares about

With 1.4 out there's probably more important posts to read but I thought it might be worth sharing.

I felt like trying to solve some information in Category:Verify, and there was a couple undocumented changes from 1.0.5 that I wanted to verify since I have a collection of old versions. One was about unholy arrows which I verified as correct, however the other one mentions "Flaming Arrows no longer emit light when wet." from my testing, all the versions up until even 1.0.6.1 work the exact same way. Flaming arrows shot from a bow stay ignited and lit up while in the water, and dropped flaming arrows from the inventory work like torches and stop lighting while underwater. I am missing versions 1.1 and 1.1.1, though I have tested in 1.1.2 and I found the flaming arrows were fixed and extinguish underwater properly.

Since I don't really have a good way of finding the exact version, this is where my journey ended. I know it's got nothing to do with 1.0.5, so I removed it from the page. If any historians are able to find the actual version it changed in (between 1.1 and 1.1.2), feel free to document it on the correct page and the flame arrow page as well. Hello, the stubbed articles are all about a freshly made page. While adding reasons to stubs is a nice idea, these are, generally, barely used. Forced Autoplay

Is there a way to stop the wiki from autoplaying videos? It just started doing that this week, and I can't find anything in preferences for it. I would rather not have to use an ad blocker to kill the embedded videos, but they're mildly annoying and eat bandwidth. WatcherCCG79308 (talk) 22:07, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

I agree with you on that, but I believe it is GamePedia itself, so there is no real way of stopping them other than an adblocker, as it is GamePedia itself advertising its own other wikis. DanZeMan (talk) 12:40, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
The video embed coding seems to have changed recently. After some testing I've found that we can still keep videos non-autoplay. It just requires tweaking the code on the page where the video is found. If you point out a specific page where you see autoplay occurring, I/we can fix it up; and we'll appreciate it, cause we don't want any videos autoplaying here (at least not actual embedded videos with sound -- but gif animations do autoplay by design). The music box page is messy and confusing.

For example the boss 4 music box is listed twice which is because there are different ways to obtain it, but the version icons are in confusing places. The boss 4 music box has the pc, console, old-gen console, and mobile icons next to it, and then next to that are the pc, console, and mobile icons in parenthesis. The icons in parenthesis are referring to the ways to get it in that version, even though its explained in a different section of the table. The icons in parenthesis should actually be next to the ways to get it, like how it is for the boss 1 box. There are several music boxes listed properly like the boss 1 box, and several that aren't correct such as the boss 4, boss 5, ice, and snow boxes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lumelore (talk • contribs) at 01:10, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Hey! There appears to be an issue with dark mode and the new npc infobox template. The text that reads "Classic" on the infobox is incredibly difficult to read because dark mode causes it to have white text on a white background. NewtheElf (talk) 05:18, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for noting, I have adjusted those tab colors. The backgrounds of the section titles ("Statistics", "Drops", etc.) may need to be tweaked as well, while still adhering to the color schemes of Expert and Master, though. Should you have any color suggestions for those, please feel free to share them. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 05:55, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Just messed around in Paint for a bit, and found some Hex values that I think look pretty decent in darkmode. You could potentially try 9B7049 and F7C699 for Expert mode background and text respectively, and 996669 and EFBFC2 for Master mode background and text, or colors similar to those. NewtheElf (talk) 06:36, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Hm, yeah, better than what we had before! We'll see how they work out, the new {{npc infobox}} is still in development anyway. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 12:06, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

White Cultists Archer

Strange template behavior

For some reason, the exclusive banner and history template link to "Desktop Version/cs" on some pages randomly, which doesn't exist. Purging the page causes it to work normally. I've only seen it on two pages, and very far apart, but I thought it would be worth mentioning somewhere. --172.58.172.238 16:30, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Move of Terraria and Talk:Terraria

Somebody randomly moved Terraria and Talk:Terraria to Terraria Wiki:Terraria and Terraria Wiki talk:Terraria, when they should obviously be in mainspace. Could somebody please move them back? --172.58.172.238 22:28, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

References

I edited a few pages with possible references. Later, I get a notification saying that they have been reverted and a note saying that "possible references" should be avoided. How do I know what references are comfirmed?Pispacedolphinmachinegun (talk) 16:05, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Have a look at trivia rules for clues on which types of trivia will stick. In a nutshell, "possible references" are usually removed. You can post a reference if you have proof that the developers intended it and can link to a post or chat quote where they said so, or if the reference is so blatantly obvious that it's "undeniable", like the Creeper set's origins. Wing images

All of the wing images use outdated sprites that (as far as I know) are not used by any version of the game. They should all be reuploaded. --172.58.4.77 21:25, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Oops I forgot: for clarification, the player sprites are outdated, not necessarily the wings themselves (though there have probably been some sprite updates that should be reflected). --172.58.4.77 21:26, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Friendly NPC defense

I was looking at the code of the game and saw that the NPC had some defense that scale with the bosses killed and had a dryad buff depending on the mod (6/10/14) that is scaled differently from the player (always 8 according to this wiki), but I can't find it anywhere in this wiki, did I miss the page, is it too complex and to do barely nothing ? --Lightg4 (talk) 16:01, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

NPC stat scaling based on bosses defeated was in the release notes for 1.4. Looks like it may have slipped through the cracks; it should definitely be added to the NPC page. Feel free to add it! Especially if you have specifics regarding the numbers. Equazcion (talk) 16:20, 8 Jun 2020 (UTC)
I have the numbers on this - I'll add them to Talk:NPCs for now, and if I have time later I'll work them into the article. - Fistsh (talk) 23:55, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

tModLoader item pages

I think we should create pages for tModLoader-exclusive items. Not Example Mod items, but items that tModLoader adds by default (the Unloaded Item, tML Dev Sets, April Fools Joke, Starter Bag). I'm not sure if they would go in a subpage to the tModLoader page or something (e.g. tModLoader:April Fools Joke / tModLoader/Starter Bag), but I think they should be on the wiki somewhere. --172.58.4.233 18:17, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

These items aren't in the base game, and therefore can't be covered by this wiki, as this wiki is all about vanilla. They also don't exist in the source code of the game, so they can't be in the cargo tables and they won't work with a lot of templates/lists on the wiki. Personally, I would pefer if these get their pages on the Terraria Mods Wiki. — Philo04 20:54, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

NPC Happiness discount calculator

Hi, first, sorry for my english. I made a fast version of a NPC Happiness discount calculator in a html file with js that shows discount values of a npc alone or with another NPC in 25 tiles and no more than 3 NPCS on 120 tiles in each biome calculating preferences, actualy on shows values if his discount value is <= to 0.85, and can filter by selecting biome and/or NPC. I like to share this html for the wiki or for some one for improbe, but i don't know where share. Old and New Sprites

So I just noticed how some pages show both the old and new sprites for items. For example, the page for the Mechanical Eye does so. Hey, this is awesome. Can I clarify what each of the headings mean?
  • Rocket II/IV explode, I assume means "destroy blocks"
  • Liquid Rocket works?, is pretty obvious
  • Rocket III/IV bigger?, I do not quite understand. Are you measuring their explosion size?
  • Nuke I/II bigger, same thing as above^
  • Cluster I/II damages twice, I assume means the "shrapnel" explosions deal damage
Am I getting that right? -- Breathlessblizzard (talk) 12:50, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
All your assumptions are good, for the bigger I was measuring the explosion size compared to the previous tiers, yes (and I noted that shrapnel was as big as Rocket III/IV in Celebration II, but as big as a Rocket I/II for the others
Nearly same thing with liquid rocket : for Celebration II it's like a Rocket III/IV but for the others it's smaller than a Rocket I/II) --Lightg4 (talk) 13:03, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Homepage biome section

I've seem that we updated icons in the biome and event section of the homepage, but I want to request the addition of the Underground Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow. My reason for that is that, as we already have the Underground Desert and Underground Jungle, I think these other Underground layers should be added as well, said that there's enough space for the 3 biomes. -- LuisYKW2 (talk) 12:51, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Those were actually added, along with a ton of other improvements, to the editcopy a loooooong time ago. The main page doesn't get updated with changes from the editcopy much though. — Godslayerchickennugget (talk | contribs) 15:57, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Mining speed

Info about "all items together add 140%" at "Speed-increasing buffs and items" section of "Mining Speed" page is probably wrong since Celestial Shell, Celestial Stone, Sun Stone and Moon Stone doesn't stack anymore. Also, since new Luminite drills has even higher mining speed than Shroomite Digging Claws (3 Luminite drills has mining speed of 2, Stardust drill has mining speed of 1 while Shroomite Digging Claws has mining speed of 4) info about Shroomite Digging Claws being fastest should probably updated as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.180.54.217 at 21:16, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Issue with "Desktop Version history" auto-links in templates

In the latest revision of Sandcastle Bucket by Morenohijazo, the links in both the "Desktop Only Content" banner and the "History" section lead to Desktop Version history/no instead of Desktop Version history. When opening the page in the editor, they appear to become English links even with no changes. While I think publishing the page with a small change would fix it, I'm leaving the page as is so that someone with knowledge of those templates can experiment with the issue and try to fix the source of the problem. --Shyskream6284 (talk) 16:31, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

The issue turned out to be much more widespread. Discussed the issue on the Wiki Discord and a fix has been made. However, testing needs to be done on using {{Lang}} in templates, as it was possibly the source of the issue which was worked around. --Shyskream6284 (talk) 00:04, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Cross Platform history sections on pages need rewrite and attention

I have noticed that the history sections on pages are all over the place and needs more attention and rewriting. For example, the Switch version is not on the Old One's Army article and the crystal block article incorrectly stated it was introduced on mobile (wich I recently fixed). Yeah, for the switch, this mostly concerns 1.3.1 to 1.3.5 content. --Superwill771 (talk) 19:22, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

Some articles have no console sections at all, or just not on par with the Desktop. Compare the chandeliers to the candles. This means an overview of every article is needed. --Superwill771 (talk) 20:03, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

"Old-gen mobile"

Looking at Mobile version, the Windows Phone version is still at an older version, similar to the state of 3DS. Would it be possible that the Windows Phone version could be mentioned, either directly as "Windows Phone" or possibly as "Old-gen mobile" on exclusive pages? If you disagree, please tell me why, because I'm sure there's a good reason why this is a bad idea. — Godslayerchickennugget (talk | contribs) 12:18, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

I've already asked about this on the Wiki Discord Server, they said that it a) was unstable and b) wasn't different from old-gen console, despite the fact that it is a bit different, because it has these unobtainable items that we now call "Historical content". I'm actually for adding this, but there doesn't seem to be an appetite to do anything about it right now. We've got bigger things to do anyway, like verifying info on articles. — Philo04 12:38, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

How do I do it? I can't translate it to Japanese this way. Thank you in advance. Kurosan529 (talk)

Hi, the Japanese localization seems to be missing from some localization databases. In order to fix that, you will have to translate Template:Use_time/l10n and Template:Coin/l10n, add type and environment names to template:tr/db-ja, and there are some missing lines on Template:Item_infobox/l10n as well. --Dinoxel talk 03:28, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Unobtainable Items draft

I’m attempting to make an improved version of the Unobtainable items page and have made a draft here. It looks and works fairly well, but one issue is that it uses collapsible content (using Template:Collapse top) which is opened (uncollapsed) by default on mobile view. The arguably large amount of content also makes me wonder if Template:Ajax should be employed, although this wouldn’t work with either Collapse Top or Tabber which the draft also makes use of. I’d like to hear if anyone has any opinions or suggestions to this. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 21:51, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation style guide

I noticed many of the 159 disambiguation pages were lacking consistency. So to help out, I started a basic disambiguation style guide on my user page taken from the Wikipedia style guide and adapted for this wiki. Aside from the lack of consistency on the format, this was mostly prompted by disambiguation pages getting out of hand such as on Red or any other page with a term re-used in the page name. Disambiguation pages such as those don't help at all, and actually do the opposite of their intended purpose.

The style guide draft can be found on User:Dig494/Disambiguation and I moved some of this message over to the talk page because of its length.

Let me know of any concerns or improvements to change and when/if you believe the guide is ready to be applied to pages that don't meet the standard. — Dig494 09:33, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

I think your guide is well written to the point where I doubt the topic could be covered any better. I also think the points on User talk:Dig494/Disambiguation are good, though I expect it would take some time to apply all of them where they are needed. For now I see no reason to not turn User:Dig494/Disambiguation into Help:Disambiguation and make it part of Template:Help/content. Lack of consistency is one of the main issues all wikis struggle with, and setting a standard for disambig pages is great help. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 15:25, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
I agree, good work! I have moved the content over to Terraria Wiki:Style guide/Disambiguation (and also replied on your talk page). --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:33, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Videoes are in general avoided on this wiki because they rarely provide better info than gifs, images, or just plain text. They are also avoided because they often serve to promote content creators rather than the wiki, which is off-topic. In the event where you have a video which illustrates something well I’ll recommend the Help:Creating animated GIFs guide, if the video can be made into a gif. This guide also lists some recording tools for this. If it must be a video, you can provide it as link or as a file. Here are some examples. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 15:25, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing it out. The 1.4 update brought a lot of changes to walls in Terraria, and this wiki hasn't quite caught up yet. Biome background description page

I wonder if we could create a page that describes the many backgrounds of biomes? --Superwill771 (talk) 00:46, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Personally I'd expect info like this to be present on the biome pages themselves, but if it amounts to a lot of content I suppose it justifies its own page. In either case, making a sandbox draft might be a good start. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 19:36, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Yeah. Also, uploading all background assets in its category will also help. Though I wonder if how we can have the older versions of some assets. --Superwill771 (talk) 22:04, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Sorry for a very late reply (if you expected any). I haven't looked into this, but I expect there might be old version of Terraria lying around in the Internet which one might obtain older assets from. Still, I must admit I doubt most users would be interested in such assets, so I don't see much point in 'digging it up.' I may be wrong, though. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 23:48, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Keybrand math formulas

It has come to my attention that the page for Keybrand uses math formulas. It seems that the formulas have broken down, turning into "placeholder" images instead of the actual math. Does this happen for anyone else? (Also, sorry if this should go on its talk page - I thought this could be rather urgent as it might affect other formulas elsewhere.) --2057clones (talk) 23:08, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

It's a known issue on Gamepedia currently and there isn't much we can do about it for now. See issue here — Dig494 23:22, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
Ah, got it. Thanks! --2057clones (talk) 00:24, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
Fixed it temporarily by just making the math expressions in latex, taking a screenshot, and setting the levels to match the wiki styling. I can't recall what the math tags used to look like, but at least there is something to see now. Awesomescorpion (talk) 17:27, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

I had to change my account again.

I am Bobosigianan, formerly Kurosan529 (my old account was a "Pro"). I used "-gpuser" and "-fduser", but it did not work. Anyway, I hope this does not happen again. Bobosigianan (talk) 03:58, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Quotation template issue

The current Template:Quotation doesn't seem to be working quite as it should. While the quote itself will be positioned correctly, the quote source is positioned far right (image). Perhaps someone could fix it, possibly by copying code from Wikipedia's quotation template? A "quick fix" could seemingly also be editing the template to use an invisible table (example). NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 03:04, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

I apologize for the late reply, but I've gone ahead and implemented this change. I believe the source being on the far right was actually intended though, since quotes are usually placed at the top of pages and will align with the infobox (probably looked better on smaller monitors). Personally I'm fine with either. --Eraloiz (talk) 10:21, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your help! NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 14:30, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Why is the text in Vietnamese?

https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Wrath_Potion

After the duration of the potion, the text is Vietnamese. But If I try to edit it, it's in English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShonackAeri (talk • contribs) at 14:14, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Should be fixed now, thanks! (Also, if you come across this again, try purging the page.) --Eraloiz (talk) 14:26, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, will do if I encounter the same problem in the future :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShonackAeri (talk • contribs) at 14:30, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Blocks Page Image Broken

The blocks page has an image that is broken, as it shows block icons, however some blocks are invisible or have wrong textures. 73.102.3.41 18:57, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Recipe or Recipes

Hey! Could somebody please tell me if the crafting subtitle "Recipe(s)" should be written in the plural form or not? The guide here says it should always be plural, but I wanted to double-check whether that info is accurate/up-to-date before making any changes. PuzzledKino (talk) 15:59, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

In my opinion, that's still valid. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 23:49, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! PuzzledKino (talk) 23:54, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

A problem with the images on the link previews in visual edit mode

A problem with the Music page

It's currently impossible to listen to the audio files on the Music page when reading it on a mobile device. The audio files on the table appear as just gray boxes with no kind of interface such as a play button. 193.210.229.161 04:57, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

hunter cloak's page is outdated

hello! after i updated my game to 1.4.1, i noticed that wings and shields do not override the cloak anymore (i checked both). it is also possible that armor with large shoulders does not clip through the cloak, although i couldn't check. i would update the page myself, but for the life of me, i cannot figure out how the editor works. How to edit automatic item data.

Hello, I’m new here so I’m sorry if I missed something obvious. I just wanted to ask, how do you edit item stats that draw the information from an ID? As in, it’s using the auto code to get the item’s information from a ID. I was going to edit in the balancing changes to a few weapons from 1.4.1 but haven’t been able to because of this. Thanks! DigitalGoose (talk) 01:23, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi, this is a known problem that should be fixed "automatically" soon so ou won't have to manually edit all of these informations. Dinoxel (talk) 01:29, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for explaining. DigitalGoose (talk) 02:00, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

A Credits Page on the Main Menu

I believe it would be a nice idea to add a credits page to the main area of the site containing all the names, pictures (possibly gifs,) and references found in the credits. Sofareader (talk) 16:35, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Obsidian Skull

Can someone with 1.4.1 add the new equipped sprite for the obsidian skull Vampyre77 (talk) 16:57, 27 October 2020

References

When I was pispacedolphinmachinegun, I put a bunch of references based on a thing I found on steam. Some were removed and I was told the references had to be confirmed or obvious. How do I know if they're confirmed or not? Daybroken (talk) 17:23, 30 October 2020 (UTC) (aka pispacedolphinmachinegun)

It should be confirmed by the devs — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daud ahn (talkcontribs) at 10:40, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Projectiles

I was thinking of making a page for certain projectiles (mainly melee weapons.) Does such a page exist? If not should it be done? Daybroken (talk) 20:10, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

I think you might be looking for Projectile melee weapons? Or Projectile IDs. --Eraloiz (talk) 15:02, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh I meant the projectiles themselves. Daybroken (talk) 12:54, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Pylon NPC Combination Exampels for Ocean

Hello,

i noticed under the NPC combination examples that for the Ocean Pylon it is saying that the angler and the stylist is a possible combination for the stylist selling the pylon. I have tried this and it does not work on my worlds. I have to bring the angler and the golfer together for the golfer to sell me the pylon. On the NPC Page it even says the Stylist has no positive or a negative effect on happines with the angler.

I do not know if someone has more informations about this. I googled it and some persons also have problems with this.

I've corrected it, thanks for mentioning! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 09:57, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Template issues

I recently saw that Template:Icon-version/l10n was vandalized and reverted. However, the changes that appeared on many pages due to the vandalism have not reverted, and I'm not sure if this is an issue that will resolve itself eventually, or if it requires work. 2057clones (talk) 15:09, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

I have only seen the issue in {{recipes}} tables now, and that is explained by Module:Recipes's usage of Extension:LuaCache; it caches its result for 24 hours. So if there are still pages with the issue by tomorrow around 7:00 UTC, a purge or null-edit should fix it. Although it's unfortunate now, the caching is very helpful in regards to site performance. Anyway, thanks for noting! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 15:43, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

i kinda need some help making one of the pages i made look official

Help with figuring something out

Is planteras bulb a resource? In my opinion I feel that a resource is a block or item that can be picked up, used, or otherwise. as planteras bulb cannot be picked up I feel that it is not a resource but I wanted to make sure with the people on this wiki to make sure. Side note I think that if people consider planteras bulb a resource then should there be a area in guide:resource farming about farming for plantera bulb? Can you increase the drop rate of compasses from mother slimes??

LaserLemonLime (talk) 18:49, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Drop rates are generally fixed, although you might be able to slightly increase them via good Luck. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 14:13, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

A suggestion for a guide page for researching everything in journey mode

Speaking as someone who has spent many an hour trying to research everything in journey mode, I think somehing many players would appreciate is a guide page to help with this. For example, it could contain a section dedicated to gathering the base resources (with a list). These would be resources that everything else could be crafted from. It could also have a section to rarities of items generating in a given world, average drop rates from enemies, and also other tips on how to research everything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowBlade8192 (talk • contribs) at 02:21, 30 December 2020
