Version
The Desktop version or PC version of Terraria refers to the Windows, macOS, and Linux PC versions. These versions are produced entirely by Re-Logic, Terraria's original developer (whereas the current 
Console and 
Mobile versions are being worked upon by DR Studios, a third-party developer). Because of this, updates often come to the Desktop version first.
All three Desktop versions are on the same update path and are updated together, sharing a common version number, though each has its own installation package. All can be purchased/downloaded through Steam or GOG.com.
Three of the major updates of the Desktop version are permanently available on Steam: 1.0 (Undeluxe Edition, 1.0.6.1), 1.1 (First Final Update, 1.1.2), and 1.2 (Angler's Delight, 1.2.4.1).
On this wiki, the 
Desktop version also includes the most recent tModLoader version. The "1.4.3-legacy" and "1.3-legacy" versions of tModLoader, based on Terraria 1.4.3.6 and 1.3.5.3, respectively, are disregarded on this wiki.
macOS and Linux versions became available starting with version 1.3.0.7 as a beta test package on July 23, 2015, and in 1.3.0.8 as a full release on August 12, 2015. All prior versions were Windows-only.
