Re-Logic staff members occasionally announce and/or hint at various details of Terraria updates that are still in development. This page lists those details.
Since the updates described here have not been released yet, and many of these details are only conjectured based on comments or screenshots provided by the staff, all items here may be subject to change, or may not end up in a future Terraria update at all.

1.4.5
1.4.5 will feature a crossover with the roguelike-Metroidvania game Dead Cells[1][2][3] and will include "things that got left out of 1.4.4".[4] While the update was originally announced to be "relatively small in scope",[5] it has since grown in size.[6][7] It is planned to be released in 2025.[8][9]
New items
- Items from Dead Cells, including:
- A vanity outfit of the Beheaded, the protagonist of Dead Cells.[10]
- Hanging flasks that can display items in a similar way to Item Frames.[10][11]
- Weapons for all damage types,[12] including:
- A Health Fountain furniture item that gives the player a buff when interacted with.[18]

- Several whips, including:
- A whip dropped by the Moon Lord.[19]
- A Stardust-themed whip.[20]
- A Corruption-themed whip called the Soulscourge.[10][21]
- A Crimson-themed whip called the Vasculash.[21]
- A Duke Fishron-themed whip.[21][17]
- A Meteorite-themed whip called the Starcrash.[14]
- A Plantera-themed whip that releases homing petal projectiles after hitting an enemy.[22]
- A white whip.[23]
- Several furniture sets including:
- A Hallowed armor-themed set.[24]
- An Aetherium-themed set.[6].
- A Fallen Star-themed set.[25][26]
- Fallen Star Bricks and Walls.[25]
- Music Blocks that play notes.[27][28]
- Several Boulder-related items or features, including:
- A type of Boulder that "falls" upwards.[29][30]
- Boulder Rain,[31] where Boulders fall from the sky during a Thunderstorm.[14]
- A Rainbow Boulder (initially teased as "🌈🪨") found in secret seeds combined with Celebrationmk10. When activated it will bounce between ores and chests while passing through blocks and not hurting the player.[32][33][14][34]
- A Poo Boulder.[35][14]
- A Shimmer Water Gun that allows the player to transform an NPC into their Shimmered form without submerging them in Shimmer.[36][37]

- Several transformation mounts (similar to the Wolf mount summoned by Lilith's Necklace),[38] including:
- A transformation mount that resembles a velociraptor.[39][40] The mount can be dyed and displays vanity items equipped in the head slot.[41] When the player is flying, the velociraptor is carried by a pterodactyl. The mount-summoning item is crafted with some combination of Sturdy Fossils.[42]
- A transformation mount that resembles a bat.[43]
- A transformation mount that resembles a Rat.[17]
- A transformation mount that resembles a Fairy.[44]
- A roller skate mount which allows the player to scoot on surfaces and grind on Minecart Tracks.[45]
- Paintings made by several members of the Terraria community, including:
- A painting of the r/place 2023 art created by the Terraria community.[54]
- An Axe Fairy pet that looks like Cenx's avatar and can harvest wood from trees.[55][56]
- A frog-themed accessory.[57]
- An accessory resembling a Tamagotchi on a chain.[14]
- A Silly Balloon-themed accessory.[14]
- A beard accessory similar to Ginger Beard.[14]
- An item resembling a blue ribbon with a heart on it.[58]
- A Stress Ball accessory that makes the player automatically attack when not moving and their inventory is closed.[59][60] It has some type of interaction with the Extractinator.[61]
- A Magic String accessory that causes yoyos to fly off the string and deal damage. It can be combined with the Yoyo Bag to make the Magic Yoyo Bag.[6][62]
- Several accessories that will allow players to change the sound they make when hurt. Some examples include the hurt sound of a Zombie, a turkey,[22] a chicken, and an arcade machine.[63]
- A Moon Lord chest piece.[64]
- An item whose sprite resembles the Cobweb's with added sparkles.[35]
- Cloud platforms.[59]
- A variant of the Living Wood Wall that allows placing an unsafe wall (similar to the Forbidden Lihzahrd Brick Wall, Cursed Dungeon Brick Walls, etc.).[65]
- An "Axearang" (a combination of axe and boomerang) that is capable of chopping down trees when thrown.[55][66]
- A pink crafted banner.[6]
- Throwable mud balls that place a Mud Block when they land.[56]
- Placeable versions of background objects including:
- Demon Altar.[56] It only drops "in the most extreme of circumstances and is not going to be easily obtained/readily available".[43]
- Fallen Log.[67]
- Life Fruit.[67]
- Shadow Orb.[67]
- An item that resembles a clay furnace.[56]
- A placeable CRT Television that applies a visual filter when turned on like Monoliths.[68]
- A developer set for Chicken Bones.[67]
- An item called the "Mitey-Titey" that can place stalactite and stalagmite ambient objects in a similar way to the Rubblemaker.[67]
- Hoppers that can pick up dropped items and store them in Chests.[66]

- A stick-like item that kites can be attached to and flown from.[45]
- A Freeze Bomb[17][69] which turns water in its blast radius into Ice Blocks.[25]
- A Bomb that can destroy Hardmode ore.[25]
- Beach wear vanity sets.[13]
- The Heroicis vanity set.[70]
- Upgraded versions of Mining armor and Angler armor.[25][68]
- Another headpiece option for Chlorophyte armor.[25]
- Jungle Juice, a recovery potion which restores 180 health upon use. A stack of 3 Jungle Juices is crafted from 3 Greater Healing Potions and 1 Life Fruit.[71][72]
- Infused Fertilizer, an upgraded version of Fertilizer which can be used to grow tall trees. Its tooltip is 'It's got what plants crave!'[73]
- A slingshot that shoots Acorns. When the acorn projectile lands on soil it turns into a tree sapling, in a similar way to how the Sandgun places sand.[73] [74]
- Rock Candy, a food item that can be crafted from Gem Bunnies or Gem Squirrels.[44]
Other new content
- Entities, including:
- A Seeds Menu that allows players to mix different secret world seeds together. Some seed combinations will trigger additional changes.[5][21][77] Some examples include:
- A tree-related item or feature.[80]
- A functional use for Stink Potions.[81]
- The item inside a slime can change its behavior. Some examples include:
- Cloud Blocks making slimes jump extra high.[66]
- Moonglow making slimes emit light and plant herbs.[66]
- Dart Traps inside slimes can shoot at the player.[82]
- Slimes change their color when standing over painted blocks.[83]
- A "skyblock" secret world seed, where the player spawns on a customized Floating Island in an empty world with very limited resources available to them.[18][11]
- Meteor showers that cause Meteorite to fall from the sky. This may or may not be exclusive to the new skyblock seed.[18]
- Players with bad luck will be pooped on by Birds and attacked by Squirrels.[84]
- At least one hairstyle.[85][13]
- A minion count underneath the buff icon that displays how many minions the player has summoned.[65]
- An ambience effect of small cosmetic insects flying through wild grass plants.[83][84][86][87]
- An effect that converts placed Torches to their biome variant.[88]
- At least 10 music tracks,[89][90] including new themes for The Twins,[6] the Eater of Worlds,[91][92] the Torch God,[93] King Slime,[14] Skeletron, and Skeletron Prime.[94]
- Achievements.[95]
- A chat command and/or chat message that tells how much damage each player did during a boss fight and how long the fight lasted.[96][14]
- Content for the thunderstorm weather event.[97] This includes lightning that strikes enemies and the tops of trees.[98]
- A shader inspired by the "film noir" style.[70]
- The ability to place Critters as a small furniture item. The placed critter will stay near the furniture item.[98]
- When reforging the best weapon modifiers like Legendary cannot be accidentally skipped. This is accompanied by a rainbow text effect and rainbow particles.[99]

- More inclusive and customizable character creation that allows players to mix and match different character styles and voices. A third new voice type and the ability to change the voice's pitch are also being added.[107]
- Improvements to the Smart Cursor to relieve frustration when placing platforms.[108]
- New graphical effects for the sun and clouds.[107][76]
- Characters and worlds in the main menu are sorted by when they were last played, with the most recently played ones at the top. Additionally, all worlds that the selected character has visited before are marked with a small flag icon.[41]
- A glitch was fixed which allowed creating almost any item. It involved the de-syncing of door tiles in multiplayer and placement of a Bast Statue.[109][110]
- Liquids can be stored inside Bubbles.[111]
- The Rubblemaker and Echo Coating are available in pre-Hardmode.[112][113]
- The different types of Planter Boxes are no longer unlocked by defeating specific bosses.[114]
- Wormhole Potions and Potions of Return are easier to obtain.[115]
- Moon Lord Boulders are in For the worthy.[116]
- Flairon can be swung like thrown flails. It can still be used as a launched flail as well.[117]
- Phaseblades can be thrown and stick to the ground where they land, dealing damage to any enemies that walk into them. They can be called back by the player.[118][119]
- Zombie Arm creates Zombie gore when swung.[86]
- Changes to the Harpoon.[120]
- The Classy Cane can hit NPCs, which causes them to drop coins.[87]
- Slimes have a chance to drop Grass Seeds, Jungle Grass Seeds, and Acorns.[69]
- Dungeon Bricks can be crafted with Hardmode ore.[69]
- Stackable weapons, tools, and Clothier Voodoo Dolls.[68][121]
- Increased Rainbow Slime spawn rate.[122]
- Changes to yoyos.[123]
- Changes to the Paladin's Hammer.[124]
- Fish will appear in the water while fishing.[68]
- In multiplayer, players can spectate other players while waiting to respawn after dying.[68]
- The style of Party Presents and Presents can be manually set before placing, instead of being determined randomly when placed.[67]
- Cannons and Snowball Launchers can deal damage when activated by Wires.[66] Cannons also no longer require Cannonballs to be fired.[125]
- Conveyor Belts can move enemies.[66] They also can move items vertically.[13]
- Earned banners no longer drop from their respective enemies. Instead, they can be claimed via a new menu in the inventory.[45]
- Jungle Grass can be planted on Lihzahrd Brick.[22]
- Improved Control Banners (the areas showing button mappings) for controllers on
Console and
Mobile, which display related buttons near their respective UI elements instead of displaying all buttons at the bottom of the screen.[17][25]
- New graphical effect for when the Paladin's Shield activates.[126]
- New visual effect for pop-up texts when obtaining new items.[44]

Cross-play
Re-Logic and DR Studios are implementing cross-play, allowing multiplayer between the Desktop version,
Console version, and
Mobile version of Terraria. It will be available some time after 1.4.5 and its subsequent hotfixes have been released.[43][67]
Palworld crossover
There is a planned crossover between Terraria and action-adventure, survival, and monster-taming game Palworld.[73] It is unknown whether it will be included in the 1.4.5 update.

- ↑ Alright, I got liquid inside of bubble blocks to survive saving and loading. I also cleaned up the liquid drawing so it isn't so ugly near the edges. I think this will open up some cool ideas for builds. Thanks for the suggestion! July 17, 2023
