The Spiked Jungle Slime is a pre-Hardmode enemy and a slime variant that spawns in the Underground Jungle. It fires Jungle Spikes at the player which have a chance to inflict the Poisoned debuff. In Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), it can also fire five Jungle Spikes at once around itself in a short range.
Like most other slimes, the Spiked Jungle Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) accessory equipped.
Notes
- Jungle Spikes have a 37.5% chance to inflict Poisoned for 20 / 40 / 50 seconds and a 25% chance to inflict it for 5 / 10 / 12.5 seconds.
- The Spiked Jungle Slime can only shoot at the player if it is within 25 tiles and has an unobstructed line of sight to them. It has a cooldown of 1.08 seconds between firing Jungle Spikes.[1]
- In Expert Mode, the Spiked Jungle Slime can only fire a volley if it is within 12.5 tiles of the player and has an unobstructed line of sight to them. It has a cooldown of 1.33 seconds after using this enhanced attack.[1] The slime will only use the regular attack (firing a single Jungle Spike) if it is between 12.5 tiles and 25 tiles away from the player.

Trivia
- Interestingly, the Spiked Jungle Slime drops fewer coins than the Jungle Slime, despite being stronger.
- Although it can inflict the Poisoned debuff, it does not drop the Bezoar.
- There appears to be a rose plant growing inside of the slime that seems to be the source of its spikes.
- The Bestiary entry for the Spiked Jungle Slime: "Frequent consumption of the Jungle's toxins and thorns has resulted in a slime covered in venomous spikes."
