Gold Bricks are a type of brick crafted from Gold Ore. In some worlds, they are found as part of Jungle Shrines in the Underground Jungle. Like the ore they are made of, placed Gold Bricks will sparkle.

Trivia

Despite being made of Gold, Gold Bricks have no sell value.
Prior to 1.2, the houses on Floating Islands were made out of Gold Bricks.

History

Desktop version

Desktop 1.4.4:
- Stack limit increased from 999 to 9999.
- Changed the crafting ratio from 1:1 (1 ore + 1 block = 1 brick) to 1:5 (1 ore + 5 blocks = 5 bricks).
- Now used to craft Ancient Gold Brick via Shimmer.
