The Gold Grasshopper is a harmless critter. It is a golden recolor of the ordinary Grasshopper, with a 0.25*1/400 (0.25%) chance of spawning in place of the ordinary version.

Gold Grasshopper has only 5 health and no defense, and can be damaged by other enemies and players.

Gold Grasshopper can be caught with any Bug Net to be carried around in the inventory and released later, or crafted into animated decorative furniture (Gold Grasshopper Cage). Once crafted, the Gold Grasshopper cannot be released again. Gold Grasshopper itself or the crafted furniture can be sold for 10.

Gold Grasshopper can be used as bait for fishing, with 50% bait power.

It is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or its upgrades.
