Mythril Ore is a Hardmode ore that appears in the world every two out of three Demon Altars or Crimson Altars that have been destroyed. Note that its equivalent, Orichalcum Ore, may spawn instead.
Mythril Ore is found throughout the Cavern layer as well as in most Hardmode crates. It requires a pickaxe power of 110 to mine (Cobalt/Palladium pickaxe or better, or any drill).

Notes
- On the Minimap, Mythril Ore shows up as green.
- A Mythril Bar, which has a sell value of 44, is made out of 4 Mythril Ore, each with a sell value of 11. Therefore, if the player sells Mythril, it does not matter whether it is in bar or ore form.
Achievements

Extra Shiny! • “Mine a powerful ore that has been newly blessed upon your world.”
Trivia
- Mithril is a fictional metal in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth writings, where it is a rare and high-quality material used for weapons and armor. It has become a widely used material in fantasy works, particularly video games.
- Mythril was first called "Mithril" in a teaser, but this spelling had to be changed, likely for legal reasons, as the name "Mithril" is trademarked by Tolkien's estate.[1]
- Placed Mythril Ore appears to be a recolored version of placed Iron Ore.
