The Gold Water Strider is a harmless critter. It is a golden recolor of the ordinary Water Strider, with a 0.25*1/400 (0.25%) chance of spawning in place of the ordinary version.

Gold Water Strider has only 5 health and no defense, and can be damaged by other enemies and players.

Gold Water Strider can be caught with any Bug Net to be carried around in the inventory and released later, or crafted into animated decorative furniture (Gold Water Strider Cage). Once crafted, the Gold Water Strider cannot be released again. Gold Water Strider itself or the crafted furniture can be sold for 10.

Gold Water Strider can be used as bait for fishing, with 50% bait power.

It is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer or its upgrades.
