Either the Light's Bane or Blood Butcherer will be needed to craft a Terra Blade. The Light's Bane requires materials specific to a world with The Corruption, while the Blood Butcherer requires materials specific to a world with The Crimson.
The Light's Bane is crafted using 10 Demonite Bars at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil. The Demonite Ore needed to craft these bars can be found randomly throughout the world, with increased frequency in corrupt chasms. Large amounts can also be harvested by defeating the Eye of Cthulhu or Eater of Worlds.
The Blood Butcherer is crafted using 10 Crimtane Bars at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil. The Crimtane Ore needed to craft these bars can be found randomly throughout the world. Large amounts can also be harvested by defeating the Eye of Cthulhu or Brain of Cthulhu.

Stingers are dropped by Hornets and Spiked Jungle Slimes. Jungle Spores are harvested from small glowing plants scattered around the Underground Jungle: . These plants can be broken by any tool or weapon. Vines are dropped by Man Eaters.

The Muramasa cannot be crafted, but rather must be obtained from Gold Chests or Golden Lock Boxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) found in the Dungeon. Defeating Skeletron is required in order to fully access the Dungeon. Skeletron can be summoned at night, by speaking to the Old Man near the entrance of the Dungeon.
Golden Keys are needed to open any Gold Chest or Golden Lock Box found in the dungeon. These keys can be found by defeating Dungeon Slimes, looting chests, or breaking pots. Most enemies in the Dungeon also have a rare chance of dropping Golden Keys. It's possible that none of the chests in the Dungeon will contain the Muramasa, in which case a Golden Lock Box must be found from fishing up Dungeon Crates. On the Old-gen console version and Nintendo
version, Dungeon Crates have not yet been added, so a new world must be made to find more Gold Chests.

The Volcano (Fiery Greatsword on Old-gen console version and Nintendo
version) requires Hellstone, a material only found in the Underworld. The sword can be crafted using 20 Hellstone Bars at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil. A Nightmare Pickaxe, Deathbringer Pickaxe, or a Reaver Shark (only on
Old-gen console version and Nintendo
version) is needed to mine Hellstone. An Obsidian Skull and Lava Waders are useful accessories when mining this ore, as it will release Lava when broken.
Alternatively an Obsidian Skin Potion can be used which will make it much easier to mine as you'll be immune to the burning and lava and will allow you to reach otherwise dangerous pockets of ore.
Unlike other bars, Hellstone can only be smelted into Hellstone Bars by combining it with Obsidian at a Hellforge. Obsidian is formed when Water contacts Lava, and Hellforges can be found randomly throughout The Underworld.

The Night's Edge is crafted by combining the Light's Bane or Blood Butcherer, Blade of Grass, Muramasa, and Volcano at an Altar. Demon Altars can be found randomly near The Corruption, while Crimson Altars can be found randomly near The Crimson.
The Night's Edge is the last material of the Terra Blade able to be crafted pre-Hardmode. To complete the crafting process, materials from Hardmode are required.

On (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), crafting the True Night's Edge requires the Night's Edge and 20 Souls of Sight, Souls of Might and Souls of Fright each, which are obtained from The Twins, The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime respectively. The True Excalibur requires the Excalibur and 24 Chlorophyte Bars. On (Old-gen console and 3DS versions), they both require one Broken Hero Sword, which is dropped by Mothron ((Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)) or Swamp Things and Frankensteins ((Old-gen console and 3DS versions)) during a Solar Eclipse. However, it is important to note that Mothron only spawns and drops the Broken Hero Sword after Plantera have been defeated. It is not guaranteed that every Solar Eclipse will yield a Broken Hero Sword, but a Water Candle and/or a Battle Potion can be used to increase the chances of enemies that can drop it to spawn. A Solar Tablet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) found in the Jungle Temple or crafted from Solar Tablet Fragments can be used to instantly summon a Solar Eclipse.
