The Blood Butcherer attacking a
Shark, inflicting one "stack" of the Blood Butchered debuff for each hit.
The Blood Butcherer is a Pre-Hardmode sword crafted solely out of Crimtane Bars. It is the Crimson variant of the Light's Bane, and as such can be used as a substitute for forging the Night's Edge. Although it is noticeably more damaging and larger than the Light's Bane, it attacks slower.
On the 
Desktop version, 
Console version, and 
Mobile version, striking an enemy with the Blood Butcherer will inflict the Blood Butchered debuff, dealing 4 damage per second for 9 seconds and causing enemies to visibly bleed. Similarly to the Tentacle Spike or Bone Javelin, repeated attacks will cause the debuff to stack up to five times, for a total of 20 damage per second.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
