Coal is an item with no use. It can drop from Presents obtained during the Christmas seasonal event, with a chance of 1/30 (3.33%) in pre-Hardmode and 7/225 (3.11%) in Hardmode. It also has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to be dropped from Jungle Mimics, which only spawn in Celebrationmk10 and Get fixed boi worlds.

Trivia

• In a now-humorous tradition, parents in Western countries would classically threaten to give only coal to children as their Christmas gifts if they misbehaved, hence this item dropping from Presents, along with its tooltip.
• Unlike other "junk" items such as the Tin Can or Old Shoe, Coal has a rarity of 00* instead of -1*.
