The Santank Mount attacking a
Mimic.
The Toy Tank is a Hardmode, post-Plantera mount-summoning item that summons a rideable Santank Mount. The mount is notable for having a double jump as well as two auto-targeting weapons attached; a front-facing machine gun and a homing rocket launcher. The Toy Tank is dropped by Santa-NK1 in Master Mode with a 1/8 (12.5%) – 1/4 (25%) chance depending on the current wave.
The maximum movement speed of the mount is 41 mph, and it takes about 1.5 seconds to reach top speed. The maximum jump height is 12 tiles without a double jump, or 26 tiles with the double jump when timed right. The double jump can be stacked with other double jump accessories. The Santank is 2 tiles wide and 3 tiles tall, meaning that it does not change the player's height and makes it easier to travel through narrower corridors than with larger mounts such as the Unicorn Mount and Pirate Ship Mount.
The Santank's two attached weapons only fire if there are enemies in front of the player. The machine gun's bullets deal 100 base damage and are fired in a spread of 22.9°, making the weapon somewhat inaccurate. The homing rockets are initially fired directly upwards, deal 120 base damage, and seek the closest target after being fired, including targets that are outside the mount's initial detection range (e.g. enemies behind the player). The damage of the projectiles does not scale with any damage bonuses the player has, but their critical strike chance is affected by the player's ranged critical strike chance. The machine gun fires a bullet every 0.17 seconds (i.e. 6 shots per second), while the rocket launcher fires a rocket every 0.67 seconds.[1]
Notes
Visualization of the Santank Mount's target detection area. The maximum detection range is roughly 53 tiles.
- The Santank Mount's detection range is a cone-shaped area of 120° in front of the player (60° above the horizontal axis and 60° below) which extends up to 53.125 tiles from the player (highlighted in red in the image on the right).[2]
- This is merely the mount's target detection area. It can hit enemies that are outside (the machine gun's bullets can hit enemies that are more than 53.125 tiles away and the homing rockets can hit enemies virtually anywhere), but neither weapon will fire if there are no enemies with a direct line of sight to the player in this detection area.
- The player can use items or other weapons while the tank attacks, making it useful as a DPS boost.
- This mount reduces fall damage to 1.

Tips
- The projectiles' damage and fast rate of fire makes this mount a reliable weapon.
Trivia
- Its tooltip, 'For the REALLY naughty ones.', is a reference to Santa Claus' nice and naughty list. The buff tooltip, "Crossing off the naughty list...", references the same story.
- The name of the Santank Mount itself is a reference to the name of the Santa-NK1 while it was in development.
History
- Desktop 1.4.3: Changed buff tooltip from "Crossing off the naughty list . . ." to "Crossing off the naughty list...".

. The angle between the vector from the player's center to the enemy's center and the X-axis must be ≤1.0471975949079879 rad = 60.000003°
when facing right and ≥2.0943951461045853 rad = 120.000003°
when facing left. Since the absolute value is considered, this is mirrored below the X-axis. Furthermore, the length of the vector must be <850
pixels, i.e. 850/16 = 53.125
tiles.
