Trivia

  • While the Cell Phone is based on the more popular slate smartphones, the Shellphone is based on the clamshell form factor, which declined in popularity after the 2000s but has regained some popular status with the trend of foldable smartphones.
  • The tooltip for this item references both the belief that conch shells sound like the ocean (as referenced in the Magic Conch's tooltip) and car warranty scams, a type of scam which is widely propagated via cell phone spam calling.
  • The Shellphone has the second most complicated item crafting tree with 16 items, surpassed by the Zenith, which has 22.

History

  • Mobile 1.4.4.1: Fixed an issue where the Shellphone would not teleport the player and would not display the tooltip when crafted.
