The Molten Pickaxe is a pre-Hardmode pickaxe. It can mine blocks up to Dungeon Bricks, Cobalt Ore, and Palladium Ore. The Molten Pickaxe also emits light and occasionally inflicts the On Fire! debuff on hit enemies.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes and Legendary for combat purposes.

Tips

  • Although the Molten Pickaxe can destroy most blocks it can mine in one hit, its slow mining speed means that lower tiered pickaxes can mine the weakest block types faster. However, it remains the fastest pre-Hardmode pickaxe for mining Stone Blocks and above.

  • The achievement associated with the Molten Pickaxe depicts its pre-1.4.0.3 sprite.
