The Molten Pickaxe is a pre-Hardmode pickaxe.

It is the most powerful pre-Hardmode pickaxe, being able to break nearly every block in one hit. It is capable of mining Cobalt Ore and Palladium Ore, which makes it an essential tool for early Hardmode. It also has the benefits of emitting light and occasionally inflicting the On Fire! debuff on enemies struck.

Although the Molten Pickaxe can destroy most blocks in one hit, its mining speed is very slow, meaning many lower tier pickaxes can mine the weakest block types faster than the Molten Pickaxe. However, it is still the fastest pre-Hardmode pickaxe when mining stone tiles and above. See the chart below for more details.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes and Legendary for combat purposes.
