Badger's Hat is a Hardmode vanity item dropped by the Eye of Cthulhu or the Wall of Flesh when they are both defeated on the same day (from 7:30 PM to 7:30 PM the next day).[1]

Trivia

  • This item is a reference to Terraria Twitch streamer Badger. The requirement of defeating the Eye of Cthulhu and Wall of Flesh on the same day to obtain the item is a reference to his speedruns, where doing so is an expected strategy.
  • The first part of the tooltip, "You seem to have a problem with your green screen", is in reference to how the green part of Badger's iconic hat is invisible during his streams due to a green screen.
    • While equipped, the green part of the hat may turn invisible at random times.
  • The second part of the tooltip, "'Great for impersonating streamers!'", is both a reference to Badger and to developer items, whose tooltips are similar ("'Great for impersonating devs!'").
  • Equipping the hat in the armor slot and the vanity slot at the same time will stack them, creating a taller hat (this behavior is similar to Empty Buckets).
  • The hat wiggles back and forth while the player walks.
  • The hat will appear above the player's character's icon on the map.
