The Soaring Insignia is a Hardmode, post-Plantera accessory that boosts the player's movement speed. It has the following effects:

• Increases acceleration by 75%, from 0.3 tiles/second² to 0.525 tiles/second², grants infinite flight time, and increases jump speed by 1.8
• Increases movement speed by 7.5%

Additionally, it increases flight ascent speed with wings or Rocket Boots. With the Soaring Insignia equipped, the player will reach maximum movement speed much quicker and will be able to stop, change directions, and go from flying upwards to falling or vice versa very quickly. The Soaring Insignia is always dropped from the Empress of Light's Treasure Bag in Expert Mode.

Notes

• None of the Soaring Insignia's bonuses apply while the player is using a mount (Bee, Pigron, Winged Slime, Rudolph, and Book). The mounts that already grant infinite flight still have infinite flight.
• The Soaring Insignia is not a wing-type accessory and does not inherently grant the ability to fly. The player must equip it alongside wings or Rocket Boots in order to receive its infinite flight time bonus.
  • The Soaring Insignia will not grant infinite flight for the Flying Carpet, although mobility is still increased.
• While granting infinite flight to Rocket Boots, it does not prevent fall damage.

Tips

• The Jetpack's downside of low flight time is negated by this item, allowing the player to fully utilize its quick vertical acceleration.
• It can pair well with any hover based wings so the player does not have to use infinite flight mounts.
• If paired with the Celestial Starboard and its hover feature, it is possible to reach a horizontal speed of 84 mph.

Trivia

• Soaring Insignia's ability is similar to the one Red's Wings had prior to 1.3.0.1.
