The Frostspark Boots are a pre-Hardmode accessory crafted from Lightning Boots and Ice Skates, and combines their functionality. They grant the following effects while equipped:

  • The ability to sprint, allowing the player to reach maximum running speed faster. The player will leave behind a visual trail of snow clouds as they sprint.
  • Increased maximum movement speed to 35 mph (25.67 tiles/second).
  • The ability to hold ↷ Jump in midair to fly for a total of 1.17 seconds. While flying, the boots emit a visual cloud trail.
  • Increased acceleration and deceleration on all Ice Blocks, Thin Ice, Frozen Slime Blocks, and Aetherium Blocks. The player will no longer cause Thin Ice to break upon landing.

Notes

  • If the player runs into a wall with a 1- to 2-block opening in the floor next to the wall, the player will sometimes fall through.
  • This item will stack with wings, granting a small flight time bonus to them.

Trivia

  • They were incorrectly called "Sparkfrost Boots" in the Terraria 1.2.1.2 changelog. This name still appears in some places within the game's source code.
  • This accessory is one of the few pre-Hardmode accessories to have a base rarity of Rarity level: 7.
  • The color of the running particle uses a different dye slot than that of the flying particle. This is easily seen when using Intense Flame Dye.
