The Honey Comb is a pre-Hardmode accessory which, when equipped, spawns 1–3 (or 1–4 with a Hive Pack(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) equipped) bee projectiles which attack nearby enemies each time the player takes damage. On the Desktop version,
Console version, and
Mobile version, it also grants the Honey buff for 5 seconds after being damaged. The Honey Comb has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to be dropped by the Queen Bee.

Notes
- The Honey Comb will always spawn 1 bee projectile, with two independent 1/3 (33.33%) chances to spawn an extra bee. With the Hive Pack(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) equipped, there is an additional 1/3 (33.33%) chance for an extra bee to be summoned.[1] The average amount of bees summoned per hit is 1.66, or 1.99 with the Hive Pack equipped.
- Bees summoned by the Honey Comb have a base damage of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 13 / 19 / 26 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 7. Bees summoned by the Honey Comb when the Hive Pack is equipped have a base damage of 18 / 27 / 36.[1]
- The Bee projectiles from the Honey Comb have a 1/2 (50%) chance to deal 1 extra damage, can pierce enemies or ricochet off solid blocks 2 times in total, and last 10 seconds. With the Hive Pack equipped, all Bee projectiles have a 1/2 (50%) chance to be converted into Giant Bee projectiles, which always deal 1-3 extra damage, have a knockback of 0.5 (Extremely weak), can pierce enemies or ricochet off solid blocks 3 times in total, fly noticeably faster, and last 11 seconds. Both kinds of bee projectiles will dissipate immediately on contact with water or lava.[2]
- The bee spawning effect and honey buff of the Honey Comb, Sweetheart Necklace, Honey Balloon, Bee Cloak, and Stinger Necklace(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) do not stack. The same amount of bees will appear after being damaged and same duration of honey buff is applied, no matter how many of these items are equipped.
Tips
- The Honey Comb works well with a full set of Orichalcum armor as the bee damage will activate the armor's set bonus and causes the flower petals to attack.

, all normal Bees have 0 knockback, making the 1.1× multiplier never effective.
