The Shoe Spikes are an accessory that lets players partially "stick" to the sides of blocks, slowly sliding down them when moving against them in midair. Jumps can also be performed off the sides of blocks. By repeatedly sticking and jumping, vertical blocks can be scaled. When sliding down, the slide speed can be accelerated using the ▼ Down key. Shoe Spikes can be found in Gold Chests underground and in Rich Mahogany Chests found in the Underground Jungle.

Shoe Spikes function identically to the Climbing Claws, but are found in different locations, Climbing Claws only appearing in surface chests. When both Shoe Spikes and Climbing Claws are equipped simultaneously, the wearer remains completely "stuck" at a fixed point when moving against the sides of blocks, and may slide down with the ▼ Down key. This effect can be achieved using a single accessory if the Shoe Spikes and Climbing Claws are combined into the Tiger Climbing Gear at a Tinkerer's Workshop.

  • In the Don't dig up and Get fixed boi worlds, Shoe Spikes can be dropped from Mimics before Hardmode.
