The Tackle Box is an accessory that decreases the chance of bait consumption while fishing. The Tackle Box can be acquired as a 1/34 (2.94%) chance reward for completing a fishing quest for the Angler NPC, depending on the number of completed quests and other factors (for details, see Angler).

The Angler will not give the player a Tackle Box as a reward if they already have one in their inventory or in any of their portable storage items or loadouts. However, if the player has all of the Angler's fishing and informational accessories (or their upgrades like the Angler Tackle Bag and Fish Finder) in their inventories, this rule will be ignored.

Notes

• The effects of the Tackle Box do not stack with the Angler Tackle Bag(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) or the Lavaproof Tackle Bag(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
• On average, the Tackle Box makes any given bait last one reel-in longer. See Bait power for the full details.
• Two bait items are unaffected by the Tackle Box:
  • Truffle Worms are always consumed.
  • Gold Worms always have a fixed 1/20 (5%) chance to be consumed.
• The High Test Fishing Line, Angler Earring, and Tackle Box are interchangable with Shimmer.
