Notes

  • Despite the Solar Eclipse taking place during the day, the Moon Stone does work during the event.
    • This may be because the moon is the object that causes solar eclipses in real life.

Tips

  • The accessory may prove useful during the battles with the mechanical bosses, since these take place at night.
  • An easier/faster way to get the Moon Stone is by placing a Water Candle or consuming a Battle Potion because the Blood Moon and Solar Eclipse does not have a set spawn rate.
  • For an average damage output, this accessory is statistically superior to Avenger Emblem for all class types except for summoner, since summoning weapons are not affected by the critical strike chance of the player. However, the damage loss for summoners are still a marginal 2%, while providing more survivability and minion knockback.

Trivia

  • The Moon Stone and its counterpart, the Sun Stone, could be a reference to the platform-adventure action role-playing game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. There are two items with very similar names, looks, and effects in the game: Moonstone and Sunstone.
    • Futhermore, the main character of the game, Alucard, is a Dhampir, which are the product of a human parent, and a vampire parent, and the item is dropped by the Vampire enemy, which could reference Alucard's father, Dracula.
  • Despite the fact that this item is obtained from the Vampire enemy, its counterpart, the Sun Stone, is obtained from the Golem boss.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.0.1: No longer stacks with the Celestial Shell, Celestial Stone, and Sun Stone.
