The Bee Cloak is a Hardmode accessory that combines the effects of the Star Cloak and the Honey Comb. When the player is injured, three stars will fall on the player's current location and bees are released.

Notes

• The bee spawning effect of the Honey Comb, Bee Cloak, Sweetheart Necklace, Honey Balloon, and Stinger Necklace(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) do not stack. The same amount of bees will appear after being damaged no matter how many of these items are equipped.
• The falling star effects of the Star Cloak, Mana Cloak(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Bee Cloak, and Star Veil also do not stack. The quantity and damage of falling stars from the effect will not be affected by having multiple of these items equipped.

Tips

• Because the Bee Cloak is obtainable much later in the game than other bee summoning items, bees as a damage source are likely obsolete by the time it becomes craftable. However, it can also be used to receive the (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Honey buff and to activate the following set bonuses:
  • Orichalcum armor (Flower Petals)
  • (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Titanium armor (Titanium Barrier buff)
  • Palladium armor (Rapid Healing buff)

Trivia

• The Bee Cloak's, Star Cloak's, and Star Veil's projectile is called Hallow Star.

History

 Desktop version

• Desktop 1.4.1.2: Now only creates stars when taking damage from enemies.

• Desktop 1.4.1:
  • Stars now deal 75 damage and can ignore up to 25 enemy defense
    • This damage is multiplied by 2x in Expert mode, and 3x in Master mode (the defense penetration remains unchanged)
  • Now uses local immune frames, will not interfere with other piercing projectiles.
  • The base damage of the Bees generated has been increased from 7 to 13, 18 with the Hive Pack.
    • This damage is multiplied by 1.5x in Expert mode, and 2x in Master mode.
  • The player now receives the Honey buff after being hit.
