Platinum armor is a pre-Hardmode armor set consisting of the Platinum Helmet, Platinum Chainmail, and Platinum Greaves. Crafting a full set requires a total of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 75 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 90 Platinum Bars ((Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 300 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 360 Platinum Ore). The full set grants 20 defense while equipped.

Its alternate ore counterpart is the Gold armor.

  • Due to its high ore requirement, the player can choose to skip this armor set. The next tier of armor is usually available before the player can get enough Platinum to craft the armor set.

  • Desktop 1.4.1: Platinum Bars needed to craft the Platinum Helmet, Platinum Chainmail, and Platinum Greaves respectively decreased from 25/35/30 to 20/30/25.
