Apprentice armor is a Hardmode mage/summoner armor set consisting of the Apprentice's Hat, Apprentice's Robe, and Apprentice's Trousers. The set can be purchased from the Tavernkeep for a total of 450000*45 Defender Medal after defeating any mechanical boss.

The Dark Artist armor can be considered a direct upgrade of the Apprentice armor.

Tips

  • Apprentice armor set has approximately the same magic stats as other post-mechanical boss magic armor (such as Hallowed or Chlorophyte armor) while lacking the defense of Holy Protection or the offense of the Leaf Crystal. However, its boosts to the Flameburst Tower sentries make it ideal for setting up boss arenas. Three boosted Flameburst Towers with the increased damage from the Apprentice armor can provide significant damage against Skeletron Prime, the Destroyer, or Golem.
    • Alternatively, this set allows the summoning of three Queen Spiders from the Queen Spider Staff with strongly boosted damage.
    • When fighting the Old One's Army, it is better to replace the headpiece with a Forbidden Mask to maximize summon damage, as the increased Flameburst field of view is not as helpful during the event.
