Snow armor is a pre-Hardmode armor set consisting of the Snow Hood, Snow Coat, and Snow Pants. Each piece has a 1/30 (3.33%) chance to be dropped by Frozen Zombies.

The full set grants the following effects while equipped:

Snow armor pieces are interchangeable with pieces from Pink Snow armor, still providing the set bonus.

Tips

Trivia

  • This armor set may be a reference to Popo, one of the protagonists of the vertical platform video game Ice Climber which was developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. Popo wears an outfit almost identical to the Snow armor.
  • Prior to 1.4.0.1, this armor set was called Eskimo armor instead of Snow armor.
    • Eskimo was the term used to refer to the indigenous peoples who have traditionally inhabited the northern circumpolar region. In Canada and Greenland, the term Eskimo is predominately seen as pejorative and has been widely replaced by the term Inuit.
    • Previously, only the Mobile version Mobile version of Terraria used the "Snow" set names.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4:
    • Increased the defense of the pieces from 1/2/1 to 3/3/3, for a total of 9 defense.
    • Now has a set bonus which grants immunity to Chilled/Frozen. Note: Snow and Pink Snow pieces can be mixed and matched and will still grant the set bonus.
    • The effective drop rate for each piece has been increased from 1/150 to 1/30.
  • Desktop 1.4.0.1: Renamed from "Eskimo Hood", "Eskimo Coat", and "Eskimo Pants" to "Snow Hood", "Snow Coat", and "Snow Pants".
  • Console 1.4.4:
    • Increased the defense of the pieces from 1/2/1 to 3/3/3, for a total of 9 defense.
