Solar Dye is a Hardmode, endgame dye crafted from Solar Fragments dropped by the Solar Pillar from the Lunar Events. The dye gives a golden, metallic hue and a slight pulsating effect to anything used with it, similar to the Reflective Dyes obtainable from the Dye Trader's Strange Plants quest. Unlike the Metallic dyes, however, items dyed with Solar Dye do not appear to dynamically reflect light, and have the same appearance regardless of the player's proximity to light sources. Also unlike the metallic dyes, dyed items periodically glow (without casting light).
