The Squire's Shield is a shield accessory that increases the player's maximum number of sentries by one and increases summon damage by 10%. It is dropped by the Dark Mage with a 1/4 (25%) / 1/2 (50%) chance.

Notes

Neither of its bonuses stack with the Apprentice's Scarf, Huntress's Buckler, or Monk's Belt.
Like most other shields, the Squire's Shield synergizes with the Brand of the Inferno to block an attack.
It's bonuses are exceptional for the place in the game it's acquired. Essentially acting as a Necromantic Scroll that grants a sentry slot rather than a minion slot. Even non-summoners may want to consider using this, as the list of pre-hardmode accessories that grant offensive boosts is rather small.

The Squire's Shield and the Huntress's Buckler are the only shield accessories that do not grant defense.
