Mythril armor is a Hardmode armor set consisting of the Mythril Chainmail and Mythril Greaves, as well as three different headpieces: the The Mythril Helmet, Mythril Hat, and Mythril Hood, providing bonuses for the melee, ranged, and mage classes respectively. Crafting a full set with one headpiece requires a total of 45 Mythril Bars (180 Mythril Ore). Crafting all five pieces requires a total of 65 Mythril Bars (260 Mythril Ore).

Its alternate ore counterpart is the Orichalcum armor.

    • Trivia

    • Mithril is a fictional metal in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth writings, where it is a rare and high-quality material used for weapons and armor, and a shirt of mithril chainmail is a significant artifact in these writings. It has since become a widely used material in fantasy works, often under a minor alternate spelling such as "mythril".
    • Interestingly, the Mythril armor set with Mythril Helmet provides the highest melee damage increase out of any armor set available pre-mechanical bosses. However, this comes at a cost of significantly lower defense compared to other sets.

    • Desktop 1.4.1:
      • Mythril Chainmail Damage bonus increased from 5% to 7%.
      • Mythril Greaves Critical chance increased from 3% to 10%.
      • Mythril Helmet melee critical chance increased from 5% to 8%.
      • Mythril melee set bonus increased from 5% to 10% critical chance.
    Armor generating light before 1.2.
    • Desktop 1.2: Wearing a full set no longer produces light.
