The Diamond Staff is a pre-Hardmode magic weapon and is the strongest of the seven gem staves. It fires a white bolt that deals a high amount of damage, has a high fire rate, pierces one enemy, auto-fires, and has a medium mana cost, making it a viable magic weapon in the early game if the resources to craft it can be found.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes

• The bolts fired from the Diamond Staff (and other gem staves, as well as the Spectre Staff) can pass through the slanted side of sloped blocks.

Tips

• If the world generated with Gold Ore instead of Platinum Ore, then the only way to craft the Diamond Staff is to:
  • Gather Platinum Ore with the Extractinator.
  • Mine Platinum Ore from another World where it is naturally generated.
  • Collect Platinum Ore from slimes.
  • Get Platinum Ore and Platinum Bars through fishing up crates.
  • Transmute Cobalt Ore or Bars into Platinum Ore or Bars via Shimmer Transmutation
  • Turn Gold Ore or Bars into Platinum Ore or Bars via a Chlorophyte Extractinator.
