Valhalla Knight armor is a Hardmode, post-Golem melee/summoner armor set consisting of the Valhalla Knight's Helm, Valhalla Knight's Breastplate, and Valhalla Knight's Greaves. The set can be purchased from the Tavernkeep for a total of 1500000*150 Defender Medal.

The Valhalla Knight armor can be considered a direct upgrade of the Squire armor.

Tips

  • The Valhalla Knight armor is the highest-defense summoner armor in the game. In fact, it has slightly more defense than Vortex armor, the second highest defense endgame armor, and its health regeneration buff is considerable, making it the only armor designed for summoners that could be considered tanky. Stardust armor, the highest-tier summoner armor in the game, cannot be acquired until after the defeat of Moon Lord, and has only 38 defense. One may want to consider the fact that the Valhalla Knight armor's defense, sentry buffs, movement speed and health regeneration combined make it better than Stardust armor in some situations.
  • The massively increased health regeneration of the Valhalla Knight's Breastplate stacks with that of the Squire's Great Helm as well as other forms of regeneration, such as the Shiny Stone. This can allow for very quick regeneration after a brief escape from battle.
  • The Valhalla Knight's Breastplate has the highest summon damage increase in the game, 5% higher than the Red Riding Dress and Dark Artist's Robes, and 8% higher than the Stardust Plate. Along with its high defense and increase in health regeneration, the breastplate alone synergizes well with many other pieces of armor, aiding in the survivability of other playstyles, although at the cost of set bonuses.
    • However, it lacks the Red Riding Dress's and Dark Artist's Robes' increases to non-summon damage, and the Stardust Plate's boosts for minions, which means they would provide higher DPS.
  • Since summon damage bonuses apply to both sentries and regular minions, combining this armor with the Pygmy Necklace, Necromantic Scroll, and Papyrus Scarab to also allow more normal minions to be summoned at once can be a highly effective strategy, especially during invasions or boss fights where the sentries being immobile is usually not as much of an issue.
  • The Valhalla Knight armor has only two melee bonuses (the +20% melee critical strike chance bonus from the greaves and the +10% melee damage bonus from the helm). Almost all of its bonuses are focused on defense, regeneration, and minions. The Shinobi Infiltrator armor has similar minion benefits but trades the regeneration and defense for additional bonuses to melee damage and melee speed.
    • Compared to Beetle armor with Beetle Shell, this armor provides marginally lower defense, but a generally higher average melee damage bonus and a powerful passive health regeneration bonus. However, it lacks damage reduction.
      • Because Beetle Shell's damage reduction bonus slowly disappears as the player is hit, this armor may be preferable in situations where the player are likely to be damaged rapidly, such as enemy-heavy events. Having a great summoning bonus and 3 extra sentry slots also synergies in such scenarios.
    • Whips benefit from the significant increased summon damage of this armor, and may make a better choice than melee weapons.

Trivia

  • Valhalla is a place in Norse mythology where warriors that have died gloriously in battle are chosen by valkyries to go. There, the einherjar train daily for an immense battle set to take place during Ragnarök, the Norse day of doom. Also, half of the heroically fallen go there, the other half go to Fólkvangr, the Vanaheimr equivalent of Valhalla.
