Mining armor is an armor set consisting of the Mining Helmet or Ultrabright Helmet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Mining Shirt, and Mining Pants. The helmets alone provide light when worn in the armor slot, but not when worn in the social slot. A full set grants (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 4 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 3 defense (6 with the Ultrabright Helmet), as well as 30% increased mining speed.

• The Mining Shirt and Mining Pants are dropped from Undead Miners with a (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 3/25 (12%) / (3DS version) 3/125 (2.4%) chance.
• The Mining Helmet can be purchased from the Merchant for (Desktop, Console, Mobile and 3DS versions) 4 GC / (Old-gen console version) 8 GC.
• On the  Desktop version,  Console version, and  Mobile version, the Mining Helmet can also be dropped by Undead Miners with a 1/20 (5%) chance.

Tips

• Mining armor is very valuable for digging tunnels, e.g. hellevators. Its effectiveness can be further increased with the following gear:
  • The Picksaw, Shroomite Digging Claw, and Luminite Pickaxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) are among the fastest pickaxes. A Light modifier increases their speed even further.
  • The mining speed increases of the Well Fed buff (or its upgrades), the Mining Potion's buff, the Slice of Cake buff and the Ancient Chisel(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) (or its upgrade) stack with the Mining armor's bonus.
  • Smart Cursor helps with digging the tunnel.

• Desktop 1.4.4:
  • Mining Helmet defense increased from 1 to 2.
  • The Mining armor's 30% mining speed set bonus is now split evenly between the Mining Shirt, Mining Pants, and the set bonus, with each giving 10%.
  • Mining Shirt and Mining Pants are now used to craft each other via shimmer.

• Desktop 1.4.1: Mining Shirt and Pants drop chance increased from 3/125 (2.4%) to 3/25 (12%).
