Mining armor is a pre-Hardmode armor set consisting of the Mining Shirt, and Mining Pants, as well as two different headpieces: the Mining Helmet and Ultrabright Helmet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions). The Mining Helmet can be purchased from the Merchant for 4 GC and can also be dropped by Undead Miners with a 1/20 (5%) chance. The Mining Shirt and Mining Pants are dropped from Undead Miners with a 3/25 (12%) chance.

The full set grants the following effects while equipped:

  • +6 defense
  • Improved night vision and increased radius of light sources (does not stack with the Night Owl buff)

Tips

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4:
    • Mining Helmet defense increased from 1 to 2.
    • The Mining armor's 30% mining speed set bonus is now split evenly between the Mining Shirt, Mining Pants, and the set bonus, with each giving 10%.
    • Mining Shirt and Mining Pants are now used to craft each other via shimmer.
  • Desktop 1.4.1: Mining Shirt and Pants drop chance increased from 3/125 (2.4%) to 3/25 (12%).
  • Desktop 1.3.0.1:
    • Mining Helmet's price reduced from 8 GC to 4 GC.
    • Undead Miners now have a chance to drop Mining Helmets.
  • Desktop 1.2: Wearing the full set now gives 30% increased mining speed, up from 20%.
  • Desktop 1.1: Introduced Mining Pants and Shirt. When worn with the Mining Helmet, a set bonus provides 20% mining speed increase.
