The Bast Statue is a furniture item that grants The Bast Defense buff to players in its vicinity, increasing their defense by 5 points. The buff effect can be toggled via wire. The Bast Statue has a 1/7 (14.29%) chance of being found in Sandstone Chests in the lower portion of the Underground Desert, or be found as a furniture in Underground Desert Cabins, or a 1/8 (12.5%) chance of being found in Oasis Crates and Mirage Crates.

The buff is applied to any players standing within a rectangular area of 170×125 tiles centered on the Bast Statue, similar to Heart Lanterns and Campfires.

Notes

• Multiple statues will not stack their effects. Two Bast Statues in a player's vicinity will still only grant +5 defense.

Trivia

• Bastet or Bast was the Egyptian goddess of protection, cats, perfume/ointments, fertility, pregnancy, children, music, the arts, and warfare.
• The buff name "The Bast Defense" is a pun on the phrase "The Best Defense."
