This lasts for 16 minutes, but can be canceled at any time by right-clicking the icon (), by selecting the icon using Cycle Next/Previous Buff and then pressing Remove Buff (), or by double-tapping the buff icon (). The Milkshake has a 1/75 (1.33%) chance of being dropped by Ice Tortoises and Icy Mermen.

Like all other food items, the Milkshake can be placed on a Plate.
