Silver Bullets in action. Note the extra damage done to Werewolves.
The Silver Bullet is a pre-Hardmode bullet. It deals 2 more damage and is slightly faster than Musket Balls. It also deals 300% damage to Werewolves.[1]
Silver Bullets can be bought from the Arms Dealer for 15 CC each, or 1 GC50 SC for 1000 rounds. During pre-Hardmode, they are only sold during Blood Moons (and only in worlds with Silver). Once Hardmode begins, they are always available. Silver Bullets can also be found replacing Wooden Arrows in Pots during Hardmode, in Shadow Chests, or crafted.
Its alternate ore counterpart is the Tungsten Bullet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).

Notes
- In drunk and Zenith worlds, in which both Silver and Tungsten are present, the Arms Dealer will sell the bullet corresponding to whichever ore is most prevalent (number of placed ore blocks) in the world upon joining. This is reset every time the world is re-opened.
- Unlike Tungsten Bullets, Silver Bullets cannot be converted to special projectiles (e.g. to High Velocity Bullets when used with the Uzi), as their projectile ID is 981 as opposed to 14 (that of the Musket Ball and Tungsten Bullet).
Tips
- Crafting Silver Bullets from Musket Balls purchased from the Arms Dealer is slightly more expensive than buying Silver Bullets directly.
Trivia
- In folklore and pop culture, silver bullets are depicted as having magical properties that make them capable of harming supernatural creatures such as vampires and witches when all else fails. They have a particularly strong association with werewolves, which is referenced in-game by the ammo's high effectiveness against this enemy.
