The Celestial Sigil is a Hardmode, post-Lunatic Cultist boss-summoning item that summons the Moon Lord when used. It can be used in any biome, at any time. Rather than summoning the Moon Lord instantly, it triggers a 12-second countdown before he spawns.

Trivia

  • The Celestial Sigil resembles the Mysterious Tablet, the strange idol at the Dungeon's entrance, which spawns along with the Cultists and is destroyed when the Lunatic Cultist is summoned.
  • The four colors on the rim of the sigil represent the colors of the four Celestial Pillars and the center depicts the Moon Lord's face.
  • The item was implemented to reduce the amount of time required to farm the Moon Lord. Before 1.3.0.5, simply reaching the Moon Lord could take upwards of 10 to 15 minutes.
  • It is one of the two boss-summoning items that do not immediately summon the corresponding boss, the other being the Prismatic Lacewing.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4:
    • Stack limit increased from 20 to 9999.
    • Crafting cost reduced from 20 of each Lunar Fragment to 12.
    • Decreased the summoning time from 60 seconds to 12 seconds.
  • Desktop 1.4.0.1: Can no longer be used if the Old One's Army, Pumpkin Moon or Frost Moon is active.
