The Crimson Crate is a pre-Hardmode crate that can only be fished in The Crimson. It contains items found in standard crates and always contains an item normally dropped by destroying a Crimson Heart. Its Hardmode counterpart is the Hematic Crate.

Desktop 1.4.4:
- Reduced quantity of dropped ores from 30–49 to 20–35.
- Reduced quantity of dropped bars from 10–20 to 6–16.

Desktop 1.4.3.3: Research amount in Journey Mode reduced from 10 to 5.

Desktop 1.4.0.1:
- Will no longer drop Hardmode items, even if opened after the Wall of Flesh has been defeated in a world.
