Notes
- The Herb Bag can appear in Surface Chests in stacks of 1–4, but higher amounts are rarer. If a chest contains any amount of Herb Bags, the chance it has just one is 84%, the chance of two is 12.33%, the chance of three is 3.33%, and the chance of four is just 0.33%.
- Upon opening a Herb Bag,[1] a certain number of rolls will be performed, with each roll selecting a type of item and a stack size. The number of rolls is initially between 2 and 4, but has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to be additionally incremented by 1:

- The average stack size per roll is 3.83.
- The maximum number of items that can be obtained from a Herb Bag is 40 (5 item rolls, each in stacks of 8) and the minimum number is 4 (2 item rolls in stacks of 2). The average number of items is 12.78.
Tips
- The Herb Bag is the best way to obtain herbs in early pre-Hardmode, especially in Expert/Master Mode, as some seeds are in biomes where enemies are stronger.
- If two Herb Bags are found, they can be researched in Journey Mode to provide an infinite amount of herbs and seeds without having to grow and research them manually.
Trivia
- The bag's sprite shows a Daybloom, Moonglow, Waterleaf, and what appears to be a Fireblossom at the rear.
