The Purple Clubberfish is a pre-Hardmode sword that can be obtained by fishing in the Corruption with a 1/10 (10%) chance with 100 Fishing Power, up to a maximum 1/4 (25%) chance with 300 Fishing Power.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Tips

• The Purple Clubberfish is a very powerful melee weapon at the early stages of the game it can be acquired in as long as the player is capable of surviving long enough in the Corruption to obtain one.
• The Purple Clubberfish is a decent catch, but it is outshined by the Rockfish, which deals the same amount of damage, attacks faster, and doubles as a Hammer. It also has the same catch rate as the Clubberfish but can be fished in the regular Underground area, making it a more viable option.

Trivia

• The Purple Clubberfish is one of the few fish that can be used as a weapon. Others include the Swordfish, Obsidian Swordfish, Frost Daggerfish, Bomb Fish, Bladetongue, Crystal Serpent, Toxikarp, Reaver Shark, Sawtooth Shark and Rockfish.
• It looks like a corrupted version of a Rockfish, with the Clubberfish's head actually being a recolor of the Rockfish's head.
