- The Cobalt Sword has a lower use time than all of the other Hardmode ore swords.
Trivia
- The Cobalt Sword bears a strong resemblance to the Muramasa and the Japanese katana (which is also in Terraria), and fits with the "feudal Asia" theme of other Cobalt weapons and armor.
- The real-life katana is a very light, thin blade, which is represented in Terraria by the Cobalt Sword's high speed.
- In 1.4.4 and 1.4.4.9, the Muramasa and Katana were given curved blades to make them look more like real-world Katanas. However, despite also receiving a sprite change in 1.4.4.9, the Cobalt Sword did not receive a curved blade.
