The Sunfury is a pre-Hardmode, post-Skeletron flail, that, when used, emits light and has a 1/4 (25%) chance to inflict the On Fire! debuff for 3 seconds. The Sunfury deals the most damage out of all pre-Hardmode flails. The Sunfury has a (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 1/5 (20%) / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 1/6 (16.67%) chance of being found in Shadow Chests in the Underworld, as well as a 1/5 (20%) chance of being found in Obsidian Lock Boxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) obtained from Obsidian Crates(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) and Hellstone Crates(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).

Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount.

Notes

In Celebrationmk10(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) worlds, the Sunfury can be found with the normally incompatible Legendary modifier. The size boost will not take effect, though it is still the best modifier possible.

Trivia

(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) The Sunfury has the highest listed base damage of all pre-Hardmode weapons (with the exception of explosives), with 9 more base damage than the next highest damage weapon, the Star Cannon.
